Summary: Purchased this as an upgrade for an old ECS 945-GCT-M v3.0 mainboard. Old processor was a Pentium IV-HT. Had to flash the bios, but this new dual core runs at the same clock, but performs twice as fast due to dual core and larger cache. Highly recommended affordable upgrade.
Summary: I was surprised to receive a stock intel fan cooler, as I only expected the CPU for the money I paid, wich turns out to be a nice bonus. The cpu itself is a upgrade for a LGA 755 desktop PC, and it should give a few more years of service.
Summary: This processor is extremely fast and reliable. I couldn't be happier. Its a great processor for work and gaming! I highly recommend this if your upgrading from an older Intel Dual Core processor.
Summary: It wasn't recognized by the BIOS, but it works fine @ the right frequency. I removed the old Pentium, put some paste of the new CPU, attached the fan and it worked fine. Games like Batman Arkham Asylum that were stuttering and sometimes unplayable now are smooth and always enjoyable.
Summary: If you have a socket 775 type board chances are it will support this chip as well as many other variations. Just make sure to get your latest firmware updates to get the most out of any hardware upgrades. Go straight to the manufacturer's web page for the updates. I know this chip type is used in Lenovo boards and performs really well as Lenovo has the best track record of the major brands I have used over the years.
