Summary: I purchased this particular processor for a desk top computer build. The reason I purchased the E6600 is because of its ability to be easily overclocked. It is stable at 3.8ghz. This probably to my understanding is one of the best that intel has produced. I have been using the E6600 for all my refurbished builds. Works great at 2.4ghz as well. I highly recommend this processor to all. Have had zero defects with the E6600.
Summary: Not sure exactly how it works but after plugging into a motherboard equipped with an LGA775 socket and locking it into place then applying power to the circuit, the magic begins. Stuff appears on the screen and a lot of flashing letters and digits scroll by really fast, kind of something what one would expect from a really fancy calculator. The following step involves the sorcery that is MS Windows with Bill Gates playing the part of the wizard.
Summary: I bought this CPU to replace a pentium D. It was completely successful. The temperatures and performance compared to the previous were strongly noticeable. In applications of video games, in the performance of aplicacones productivity and software development.
