Excellent

Tritone, Amazon
29 November 2011
  • Summary: I bought this chip largely based on all the good reviews posted on amazon.com. It worked out well. My boys are playing the new star wars game (SWTOR). And this chip makes a big difference - no lag, faster loading times, etc. Highly recommended!

Great processor

  • Summary: These new processors by Intel are very good, even beating the favourite AMD Athlon 64 processors in many tests. These processor are very energy efficient and run very well. If you are looking to upgrade your old system, these are great choice, that is if you have the money to spend!

Awesome, but one con

  • Summary: If you compare this processor to the E6600, the only difference is the 2mb vs 4mb cache. Huge difference in processing capabilities. Difference is about a 100 bucks or so. Still an amazing processor, smooth. I went with the E6600, but this is an excellent processor.

  • Summary: The value here is tremendous. Currently, i'm running mine at 3.4 ghz, without a hiccup. (i have watercooling, purchasable on ebay for 80 bucks). This goes great with a 965p-ds3. I wish i had shopped here, i ended up paying about 250 bucks for this beast.

this CPU is better than any AMD can come up with

fiona taylor, super biiz
9 January 2008
  • Summary: Amd beat intel with 9 ops/sec rather than the pentiums 6 ops/sec which was its weakness. no more. now for an affordable price the core 2 duo has 12 ops/sec outperforming the AMD's by a ratio of 4:3. this thing is, thus, at only 2.13, similar to a $300 AMD CPU!!!

  • Summary: see a lot of good thing about this boy. use less power than previous version of Intel cpu, also produce very small amount of heat compare to amd and other series of cpu. this $2XX can match up with amd fx-60 and x2 4800+, it also is a great cpu to overclock( can reach 2.6 easily) go with this cpu...

From back in the day...

student, Amazon
24 December 2006
  • Summary: From the days when Intel didn't split its product line into budget CPUs and horribly overpriced CPUs. This CPU is super cheap these days, and if you can find an old working motherboard for it, this CPU makes a good Snow Leopard hackintosh, very easily.
