Summary: This processor is very efficient for many purpose, such as file storage or multimedia center pc. The performance is pretty good too. However I found if I run 24x7, the stock heatsink is loud and does not dissipate heat good enough.
Summary: It's amazing what you can buy for $30 on clearance. This is essentially an Athlon 64 processor with a crippled cache, but at a peanuts price. Amazing speed and flexibility per dollar. Really easy to overclock, even with the stock heatsink (but it can go a lot higher with a good aftermarket model).
Pros: 64 bit support; being closed out at outstanding prices; easy to overclock; low core temperature
Cons: Socket 754 does not support dual channel memory; Fan on stock heatsink too noisy
Summary: This CPU runs perfectly in my "yet another $200 whitebox". Coupled with a low-priced ECS motherboard, 512M RAM, it is powerful enough for light office editing, internet surfing, music and video playing -- so far so satisfied for everyday jobs.
Pros: Superb performance for the price ($29.99 + shipping at Fry's Outpost); Low voltage and frequency keep the system temprature low
Cons: Noisy stock fan; 256k L2 cache is at most for a decent office computer
