Summary: I ordered this to replace my son's max 2.6Ghz Phenom II 9950 Black Edition in his Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H AM2/AM2+/AM3 socket motherboard. While the speed difference looks small, it made a major difference. I had researched this CPU and expected a difference in speed due to AM2+ vs AM3 and 2Mb vs 6Mb L3 cache but it was like the difference between a Chevrolet Spark and a Corvette. Not only do programs run faster but it increased the video rendering noticably.
Delivered quickly. The fastest CPU that the MoBo will take... and it shows!

Summary: I was given an older HP computer. HP didn't acknowledge that this chip would work in it. But it was the right socket, the right power and it DOES! The BIOS doesn't know what to call it, but it is happy to work with it. Twice the clock rate and double the cores. Fun. Delivered promptly too.
Summary: The processor came in speedy time, though the packaging used appeared reused. It came with everything it said it had and worked perfectly, The thermal glue that came with it was just the right amount though I wish I could of it in an appropriate applicator instead of a awkward plastic pouch.
Summary: AMD at it's finest! This processor is great! My only complaint here was that I THOUGHT I was buying a NEW one, didn't check the actual shipping order. I received a used processor instead but cost me MORE than a new one by the time I bought the cooling fan to go with it. What a RIP-OFF! Now that I know, I will be very wary of what I buy on Amazon!
Summary: A great upgrade from a single core to this quad core. Added memory and this board flies. Had two of the same boards upgraded. Very happy with this processor and use them everyday all day. I would recommend this upgrade to everyone.
Processor compatibility is determined by your motherboard.

Summary: Love it! The AMD Phenon II x4 9xx Quad-Core processor is one of the most stable and affordable out there. If you need a MAX TDP 95 Watt (Thermal Design Power) processor instead of the TDP 125 Watt for your motherboard, look for the letter W in the middle of the AMD code (HDX9xxWxxxxxx)(Deneb.
Summary: I purchased this item because it was the best upgrade for my computer, and the highest level processor for my motherboard. I originally had a AMD Athlon II X2 240 Dual Core processor, and after purchasing this one, I accidentally bent most of the pins. In addition, I spent two weeks straighten them out, and finally got the processor to fit into the ZIF socket. Afterwards, it has yet to impress me in the performance department...my Windows Index barely changed.
