Summary: bought a used one, saved about 50 bucks. very fast, I only have 4 gig memory but it is night and day compared to my old system. I'm running a msi 7641 board that cost less then the drive. I'm not a gamer but this thing is fast.
Summary: I have a Gigabyte, GA-890GPA-UD3H motherboard and have tried multiple AMD processors with it. A phenom II X4 955 black edition, two of those and this 550 cpu. All three ran great and then just died. I tried a zalmon cnps9900 cooling fan, I like it btw. but did not help in the end. I do not know why they failed, it may be in the way I set up the bios or somthing in the motherboard, or it could just be AMD. I don't know.
Summary: This one was the best buy at the time, considering its price and performances (and power consumption too). It served me so well, even if I was able to unlock only 3 cores with an Asus motherboard, but it depends on luck only, as these processors are downgraded 4-cores cpu for a reason... Mind that you have to buy a bigger cpu cooler/heat sink before any overclocking.
Summary: Great cpu.Overclocked to 3.5 just by upping cpu fsb to 226.Stays cool only running 48c at full load on prime 95.Have been able to unlock other two cores but have not played with that much.for the price is a very good cpu
Very pleased. Packaged very well and shipped quick. Excellent condition

Summary: This processor is great! Two extra cores to unlock if you have the correct chipset, and overclocks like a champ. Comparing prices with Intel, AMD certainly gives you more bang for you're buck! An Intel chip with similar specs can run you from around $180 up to $290. Granted there are well priced Intel duo core's none, within the Phenom ll's price range have 6mb of L3 cache.
Summary: Absolutely the best Bang For The Buck processor available. I bought this cpu for a new build because of its ease of overclocking, and it did so! And as a huge added bonus I was able to unlock the 2 hidden cores (because I chose the right motherboard) and now I have got myself a 4-core black edition processor that runs stable all day long at 3.6GHz with an aftermarket cooler. This could be the greatest performance computer part bargain of all time.
Summary: love this processor, only finished this build 2 days ago so still tweeking it,extremely fast and im only using half its potential,i chose this for cost, more bang for the buck, and great reviews from others, cant wait to unlock the other 2 cores
