Summary: I only recommend this if you have another fan as a backup. The instructions say using a fan other than stock voids the warranty but using it would cause melting or worse a fire.
Pros: Great speed Great price Instructions were clear as day
Cons: The heat with the stock heat sink was insane! Idle temps were between 20c and 35c while gaming temps spiked to 215c+! Sadly I have to put my entire build on hold. I ordered a Noctua NH-D14 just incase. The Fan doesn't fit my case so, that's another frustration. It would have been nice if the stoc...
Summary: AMD seems capable but I still believe Intel has them beat on performance processing. AMD just needs to put a bit more money into research and design and they would be as good if not better than Intel.
Pros: It worked perfectly out of the box. The ASUS motherboard I paired it with had no problem working with the CPU. The cost made it a better choice this time around with a smaller budget for upgrading.
Cons: Performance was a little lower than I expected. I have two systems, one AMD and one Intel. Intel system has I7 3.3ghz CPU but neither are OC'd. Both systems have the same video card and AMD system has newer SSD and three times as much memory but the Intel System scored better on Benchmark testing...
Summary: Had to dock an egg because the inclusion of the stock cooler is a sham. This CPU cannot function in a home under a normal audio profile with the included cooler. While it technically can operate with the cooler, they're selling an unlocked CPU that cannot be reliably overclocked with the included...
Pros: Good overall performance for a desktop. Unless the app is single threaded, this processor when overclocked, will keep up with a comparable i5, also overclocked. In single thread apps, though, the intel will noticeably pull away.
Cons: This thing gets *hot*. Not just kind of hot, absurdly hot. Hot to the point that the included stock fan has problems keeping it cool enough *without overclocking*. Temps with the stock cooler will easily climb into the 70's or higher under load. Fan RPM speeds will reach into the high 6000s. It l...
Summary: This is a great cpu for the price. But if you are a gamer it is pointless because they are never going to put out a 1090 chipset. Your motherboards are going to be stuck at pcie 2.0 and left in the dirt. you can buy a 3.0 video card but never get its full use, so wasting money.
Pros: Can handle pretty much any processing you can throw at it. Good for video/audio editing and streaming. Price!!!
Cons: More watts=more heat, cores not as strong as Intel, Never going to come out with 1090 chipset. pcie 2.0 is all you get. Most of the bad things is not about this cpu but the chipset and MB's that go with it, for gaming.
Summary: So, when you get a brand new rig's worth of parts you need to test it before you put it all in a case to make sure it works. I didn't bother putting the stock heatsink on as i didnt think it would be needed to see if it post's.
Pros: Powerful for its price 8 cores Good Price/Performance
