Cheap packaging, slightly damaged product.

  • Summary: The processor itself seams great though I haven't put it in my computer yet. Unfortunately they leave some room inside the red box which allows your processor to move while shipping.

Don't let the benchmarks fool you, this processor isn't 100% reliable for gaming

Daniel P., Newegg
18 March 2016
  • Summary: In a nutshell, you get what you pay for. If you're under a serious budget and you need a processor to run games at medium-high settings and don't mind seeing constant FPS drops and watching some games perform terribly, then this processor will work for you.
  • Pros: - Cheap - Fast - Great for getting games to run on budget builds
  • Cons: I bought this processor 3 years ago for a budget build. I looked up the benchmarks and compared them to the i7, which they were right up there in the same category. It seemed like a no-brainer. All that performance for nearly half the price? Yes please. Unfortunately, I was duped by what I though...

  • Summary: Not worth an unstable overclock. By the time you're invested in an am3 platform your Intel money deep.

LOUD AS HELL, STOCK FAN BAD

Christopher R., Newegg
15 February 2016
  • Pros: It is a decent cpu most games will play well on.
  • Cons: They need to put a better fan as stock, I understand its a high wattage with small fan but if they are gonna sell this they should put a much better fan on it. I mean this thing sounds real bad. invest in a 30dollar coolermaster 212 evo I bought it luckily reading reviews about fan and coolermast...

Great Product- Just fasley advertised.

Michele L., Newegg
11 February 2016
  • Summary: I dislike when a company tries to pretend it's a 8 core processor when it is not, Do they realize that they would be liable for a class action lawsuit for false advertisement?
  • Pros: Great Processor, Fast, Cool at 32C under load (I have Liquid cooling)
  • Cons: Again AMD tries to pass of there 4 core processor as a 8 core processor, just because a core has 2 integrated control modules does not make that a Dual core module. This is still a 4 Physical Core Processor with 8 Scheduled Managers. Stop lying. - 2 egg

Good, to an extent.

Anonymous, Newegg
10 February 2016
  • Summary: Decided to go with an Intel i7 for the first time ever.
  • Pros: Worked very well and let me run my game on max settings except when.....
  • Cons: If I played any MMORPG's if there were large groups my frames would drop to 9-10 frames. I already tried a different processor and it does not do this on Intel processors. :/ Tried overclocking it to the minimum and my computer would crash. It wasn't getting hot or anything, it would just crash. :/
