Summary: Again, I love AMD simply for the affordability and the good performance under standard conditions. But their chips simply aren't good at crunching large amounts of data or multi-threading. However, I wasn't expecting this chip to be as bad at number crunching as it actually is.
Pros: The processor works well for everyday use, and even works well for most gaming applications. Dirt cheap compared to Intel processors, but we will see why shortly.
Cons: This sucker does get hot. I have it water cooled now, and it still idles around 39 C. The biggest con is that it simply is not as good as Intel chips. I have owned more AMD chips than Intel chips, and have been fairly happy with them. But let's be honest...you get what you pay for with Intel chip...
Summary: When first purchased I put a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm Fan and it idled at 33 Celsius and never got above 42 Celsius at the hottest. I am no over clocker and I do not render so it never really had to break a sweat at all.
Summary: I will try OC it some more and tweeking my system a bit but this has been disappointing.
Pros: 8 cores for real.
Cons: This is my first time using an AMD and so i switched from my old 775 chip set to this nice new AM3+ whatever, and i have to say it has been wholesomely disappointing. my old quad core on a 775 booted and loaded faster. i am using the same operating system and even got a much better OCZ revodrive ...
Summary: I did a microsoft system check and it still rates at an 7.9 but the heat is an issue for gaming. Like some others have posted, it is NOT a true 8 core. It is a 4 core. In hindsight, I would have gone with a different cpu and upgraded the fan and sink right away.
Pros: I had no issues with this processor for the first year and a half. Everything operated well and stayed at moderately low temperatures.
Cons: Now, a year and a half later or so, IT GETS HOT. While playing wow (ambient room temperature at about 68 F) my computer would shut down due to high heat. I ran a program in the background while playing with the window cued up on my 2nd monitor. At times, the cpu reading reached 71 C. I shut down ...
Summary: It worked pretty well when I had it, that's why I'm giving it 2 stars. But after about 7 months my PC wouldn't turn on. I thought it was either the processor or the power supply, but still got it looked at. The guy said the same thing so I got a new power supply since it was cheaper.
Pros: Multiple Cores Good for overclocking Uses the AM3 socket so you won't have to get a new mobo if you have a phenom cpu
Cons: It died a few months in Need hotfixes to get the best performance
Summary: Schreibe jetzt mal rückwirkend, weil ich nun einiges zu der CPU, die ich mir im April 2011 leistete sagen kann. Damals war ich absolut auf AMD eingeschossen. Was Grafikkarten, mainboards und CPU's anging.
