Summary: ok this was my first gaming pc build so i wasn't too sure what to get i asked around and for a budget i was told to get this and man i love it now im use to a crap emachine so i don't know what is considered fast but this thing blew my mind haha
Summary: I chose this CPU because of its benchmark scores. When I purchased it, it was only $109 as a discount which is VERY cheap, expecially for a 3.9(4.2GHz) hex core. Normal non-discounted price being $159 of course. If you're building a budget gaming PC, this is a easy grab.
Summary: I have purchased two of these processors over the past 6 months and could not be happier. I replaced my old AMD dual cores with these and the performance of my machines has skyrocketed. I believe that for the money, you can find no better processor.
Summary: Installed this in a gaming rig, and am very happy with it. It runs Skyrim with a ton of mods on Ultra High with no lag at all, doesn't over heat, and I have not heard any of the fan noise some have mentioned.
Summary: It's a great CPU performance wise, but it comes with a cheap-ish heat sink that sounds like a falling airplane when it goes over ~40-45 degrees C. and it comes with just a pathetic amount of thermal paste preapplied to it, one might consider adding some to it.
Summary: I bought this last yer, I am a Graphic designer, and though performance depends also of other components behavior, I must say I am completely satified with this one. It handles multiple demanding tasks such as Photoshop, Illustrator, internet navigators, music, and downloads, all at once with just a kingston 4 gb 1600 helping it.
