Great for general use

B. Armstrong "BA", Amazon
  • Summary: Accidentally ordered 2 of these, Oops... This APU works perfect for a PC that won't be doing a lot of Processor-intensive work or heavy gaming. It's a little overkill for a NAS, but works perfectly in my HTPC. The onboard graphics don't chug at all while watching video at any resolution I've asked it to do (I don't have 4k, so i can't speak about that) and I don't have any problem with Windows 7 desktop/program delay from the CPU side of it.

Best Bang per Buck!

mccliaaron, Ebay
6 October 2014
  • Summary: Great processor for the price. Great for tasks like, multiple virtual machines or small home servers. Easy to overclock and gaming is excellent. Walks over the I3 series and shames the I5s. While the other cool idea of "Future proofing", with 6 cores... it does but does not have 6 cores (Google Piledriver architecture to see why.). But no matter what you do in the computer world, if you pause for a break you'll always get left behind...

Amazing gaming CPU

Cole Cameron, Amazon
24 August 2014
  • Summary: This is a very good CPU, especially for it's price. I play Planetside 2 with this CPU, and it always holds up very well. From what I've heard, it doesn't bottleneck GPUs until you get something as powerful as a GTX 780. I haven't tried overclocking because of that but I'm sure that would make it even better. It's a beautiful, powerful gaming CPU that's a steal for its price.

  • Summary: If your not a hardcore gamer, what more do you need. This chip is off the hook! fast as can be and runs at 32.c on low setting. For 100.00 I am very impressed!

This processor runs great. Seems to run fairly cool too

Adam Whitt, Amazon
7 July 2014
  • Summary: Just built a new system with this and a Radeon 7850. This processor runs great. Seems to run fairly cool too. Haven't seen it go higher than 51 degrees celsius during gameplay. The 7850 is a different story. I'd say it's a great mid-range processor with a low price.

Can't beat the price

Steel, Amazon
28 June 2014
  • Summary: Did a first time build with my son, you can't beat the price for the performance you get. Installation was easy, used the stock fan/heatsink that came with the processor. Wanted to buy the Hyper 212 EVO cooler, but instead I bought a computer case with a lot of fans, the Rosewill Blackhawk. Hope this decision doesn't come back to bite me. My son has no issue playing Minecraft and games on Steam, he is very happy.

  • Summary: Excellent budget CPU, it is very fast in games and overclocks excellently, and it has a very low voltage (just remember to get a good cooler). It also doesn't bottleneck my 660 ti. Highly recommend this CPU.
  • Pros: Very fast for the price, games well, overclocks very well (I got 4.3ghz at 1.36v), comparable to a sandy bridge i5 once overclocked, runs cool and it is very stable
  • Cons: Included cooler is pretty bad and fairly loud, would have been nice to see one of the stock heatsinks from the 8 cores (one of the ones with a copper base) however, with an aftermarket heatsink, it's cool and quiet.

A Popular Choice For Good Reason

MadCarpenter, Amazon
14 June 2014
  • Summary: It comes as no surprise that this is often one of Amazon's best selling CPU's. It's powerful, fast, and very affordably priced (usually right around 100 bucks). It uses only 95 watts of power, overclocks simply (You would be wise to invest in a high quality aftermarket heatsink with dual fans if you plan to test this chip's potential; the factory one is too small to safely dissipate the extra heat !

  • Summary: Unlocked CPUs are great on overclocking as usual. Performance are good enough for most gaming (I play Flight Sim X most of the time). Good value compare to Intel i3/i5 of the same price. Very satisfied.
  • Pros: Value, Great on overclocking
  • Cons: None
