Summary: Great processor for the price. Great for tasks like, multiple virtual machines or small home servers. Easy to overclock and gaming is excellent. Walks over the I3 series and shames the I5s. While the other cool idea of "Future proofing", with 6 cores... it does but does not have 6 cores (Google Piledriver architecture to see why.). But no matter what you do in the computer world, if you pause for a break you'll always get left behind...
Summary: This is a very good CPU, especially for it's price. I play Planetside 2 with this CPU, and it always holds up very well. From what I've heard, it doesn't bottleneck GPUs until you get something as powerful as a GTX 780. I haven't tried overclocking because of that but I'm sure that would make it even better. It's a beautiful, powerful gaming CPU that's a steal for its price.
Summary: I originally had this chip paired with a GTX 660, the performance was up to par with what I expected out of the card. Ran most games on High - Ultra. After a lot of reading online, I bought a GTX 780, under the impression the CPU would not bottleneck it. This is absolutely not true, as the cpu stutters and hangs in graphic and !physics! intensive games such as FarCry 3, Crysis 3, and Metro Last Light. Overall it's a solid entry level cpu, lots of fun to overclock.
Pros: Stable 4.5GHZ clock on air cooling. Good price.
Cons: Single threaded performance. This will bottleneck a higher end GPU in CPU intensive games.
Summary: I got this cpu for my broter,it came in a bundle deal with a ASUS M5A97 R2.0 motherboard. Great band for the buck if your looking to build a gaming rig and don't have a lot of money. This is not a great combo.
This processor runs great. Seems to run fairly cool too

Summary: Just built a new system with this and a Radeon 7850. This processor runs great. Seems to run fairly cool too. Haven't seen it go higher than 51 degrees celsius during gameplay. The 7850 is a different story. I'd say it's a great mid-range processor with a low price.
Summary: Did a first time build with my son, you can't beat the price for the performance you get. Installation was easy, used the stock fan/heatsink that came with the processor. Wanted to buy the Hyper 212 EVO cooler, but instead I bought a computer case with a lot of fans, the Rosewill Blackhawk. Hope this decision doesn't come back to bite me. My son has no issue playing Minecraft and games on Steam, he is very happy.
