Summary: I have this installed in the computer I am using now.It replaced an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ on an ASUS M2N-MXSE Plus motherboard.Performance has been great so far.No complaints from this old boy.Stable as all hell, even when running it overclocked.
Excellent for real-time multi-task! It's ultimate!

Summary: I bought this model cpu "AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ Energy Efficient 2.8 GHz Dual-Core (ADO5400IAA5DO) Processor." because the expert shop didn't find this model but there install "AMD Athlon 64 2.7Ghz" instead. Like: 1.
Summary: Took it over a month and a half to arrive, and when it did, it worked for ten minutes and quit. Ran it on a Gigabyte M61-SME board, with an old 8600gts gpu, with a 500w power supply, so I know it wasn't starving for power.
Summary: I was in the process of building a budget system for a friend who needed a basic computer for his young daughter. I was actually looking at dual core Intel chips running in the 3 - 3.4 GHz range, but the chips here on eBay are like commodities some prices high and some low, new, used and etc.
Great processor for the $$. No dissapointments here. Excellent performance!

Summary: I purchased this AMD processor because a family member had an old "non-working" motherboard that they didn't want. The processor works great as expected. It completes the gaming system I am putting together and has a Windows Experience Score of 5.3. Not too bad.
AMD Athlon X2 5400B Energy Efficient 2.8 GHz Dual-Core (ADO540BIAA5DO)

Summary: This is one of the faster Athlon X2 processors and is generally significantly cheaper than the fastest Athlon X2 processors. It is still old technology and only competes favorably with the newer very low end stuff.
Summary: This may or may not be energy efficient, but I know it sure runs hot when your CPU usage is high. I have a 6000+ of the same family of processor as well, and it runs better (more consistent, doesn't cause the CPU fan to go crazy trying to cool it down).
AMD Athlon 5000+ or 6000+ are A++ performance for cheap

Summary: Cheap , and runs AWSOME upgraded from AMD 4400 series and still notice improvement. For the money, this is by far the best purchase you can get , if have an older AM2 go with any 5000+ but if you know your board can handle 6400 series is even better but for the price the performance on the 5400 2.8...
Summary: I bought the processor to update a much smaller dual core in my system.. It is the Black Edition which means it can be overclocked which is something that caught my interest.. Very happy with the purchase and have managed to get a stable 3.2Ghz overclock, up from the stock 2.8Ghz..
