Summary: I have built many machines, most with AMD processors and several with Intel processors. There is no need to purchase any other processor than an AMD. I have seen, time after time, the AMD processor is superior to Intel's processor- both performance and price.
Pros: Great speed to price ratio. Will easily out-perform an Intel machine at 2200Mhz.
Summary: I ordered this cpu because I got a used amd motherboard from another website and that only had a 900MHz AMD Cpu. This cpu is actually slower than the original one that was installed in my motherboard cpu. It freezes up everytime you use the internet and the cpu runs hot over 70.C.
Summary: I ordered this cpu to upgrade froma slower cpu for an older system that I wanted to revive. Job completed added that extra speed I needed to run newer applications and other goodies. The cpu itself was in great condition as promised and worked great!
Summary: AMD makes a bunch of processors. Some are better than others. This one is affordable, but don't plan on doing much overclocking with this one! I got one up to 1917MHz before toasting it and my board too. My Athlon XP 2400+ does much better. Do your homework if you are planning on building a system.
Summary: there're 2 or up to 3 versions of AMD Athlon Processors ("Palomino", "Thoroughbred A", "Thoroughbred B"), for this model 2200+ there're only the last two but my motherboard is only compatible with "Thoroughbred A", could anybody confirm wich type is this ? thanks... check [...
