Summary: What more is there to be said. Low cost, and gives you 2Ghz Pentium 4 performance. Great upgrade for any older Socket A motherboard with a lesser cpu installed, like a AMD 1.333 or something. Only downside for some people is it's an earlier Palomino core that can not be easily overclocked.
Summary: I installed the CPU on an ASUS A7N8X-X motherboard. I wanted an average speed 266MHz processor for my applications. This particular AMD Athlon processor is being phased out and is being replaced by the AMD Sempron, The AMD 2200 Sempron was actually cheaper but it is not compatible with the...
Pros: AMD quality and reliability, 3 year warranty, very clear installation instructions, excellent quite CPU fan
Summary: When I built a new machine for my mom there was no question that I would use an AMD XP processor. This one has proven to be exactly what I have come to expect from AMD. If you are going to run Windows XP, these are smoking processors. I have 2 machines and I run AMD Athon XP processors in both.
Summary: I purchased this processor, and other components, as an upgrade for my son's computer last Christmas. He is really into the latest games and at the time this processor was more "middle of the road" in cost and performance. After the upgrade he was able to play all of his games without any problems.
Pros: Reliable, cost effective -vs- Intel equivelent, Socket A motherboards still being produced.
Summary: I put this in a low budget "kitchen computer" for the family. Along with an LCD flat screen, this has turned out to be an excellent PC. Eveyone uses it: checking up on traffic in the morning, checking the movie times, reading the news, etc...
AMD Athlon XP 2000+ 1.67 GHz Processor - Socket A...
15 August 2004
Summary: This was my first Athlon CPU and I bought it because it was the best cost/performance ration CPU available at the time. Now I am running a 2700+ which is noticeably faster, but this CPU does the job just fine.
Pros: AMD name, incredibly low price, and performs beautifully at gaming and anything else you need.
Cons: None really, haven't tried overclocking too much so don't know how it holds up there.
Summary: I first bought the 2000+ chip for my computer about 1 1/2 years ago and have loved it ever since. Now, when I build a computer for my friends or family, I usually suggest the 2000+ for its price and stability.
Pros: Super stabililty and reliability. Great price!
Cons: "Slow" by today standards (but still screams)
Summary: The AMD Athlon XP 2000+ is a very good retail processor for the price. It is a speed demon and installation was a snap and I would recommend this product because if you're on a budget and you don't want to compromise performance, the Athlon 2000+ is the way to go
Summary: Recommend additional cooling for overclock. Excellent and stable processor. Easy to overclock. No complaints. Great price as comprare to Intel. This is a great cpu. I love it. Works great. Buy it
Summary: I purchased this processor to upgrade my home servers. It is a processor and fairly inexpensive. I installed and everything worked like a charm. It is well ventilated so mine is working 24/7. I initially, intended to install it in a 1U server case but found that the Heat sink and fan was to tall.
