GOOD PROCESSOR, BUT!

redplanet, Amazon
25 October 2012
  • Summary: This is a good processor but, you MUST have a discreet video card in order to use it. The built-in GPU on this chip has been disabled so a dedicated video card is required because FM1 socket motherboards do not have onboard video due to AMD's APUs.

Really nice!

Tyler R., Newegg
8 August 2012
  • Summary: Wait until fall. AMD is releasing a 100W overclockable (K-series) Athlon. That will be an overclocking beast.
  • Pros: This is literally a normal Llano APU with the graphics disabled, and all of the power redirected to the CPU portion. AMD made a smart move separating the CPU and GPU logic enough to where the CPU can operate alone. When AMD is producing batches of these, they salvage the ones with rejected GPUs a...
  • Cons: AMD isn't releasing the next batch for socket FM2 until the fall, so you may want to wait for those if you want the state of the art price-performance. These are almost getting old, since they were released so late into the Llano lineup. Has no L3 cache.

Great for gaming

Mr D., Newegg
21 July 2012
  • Pros: This is a very fast cpu. Benches better than my friends 965 phenom. It overclocks well and on liquid cooling stays very cool.
  • Cons: None so far.

Its good at a low price, but has no future.

BLob3, Amazon
17 January 2013
  • Summary: My first attempt at building a pc. This cpu is fast it gets 7.2 on windows index. The problems I have had is that it did not state you needed a separate graphics card. Also FM1 socket has been replaced by FM2 so no upgrades in the future.

Noticable

David_Liverpool, Amazon
14 January 2013
  • Summary: There is a noticable difference in big games such as Skyrim and GTA IV, but otherwise theres not that much of a difference in the tr-core 2.1ghz processor that preceded this one. Still a top buy though but pay a bit extra and get at least 3ghz.
