Summary: I loved this processor for the last 2 years.... Upgrading now to something newer. Never let me down.
Pros: Price. Even with 3 cores I been able to play most games without a problem. Had to upgrade for Fallout 4 and maybe any newer games coming out but worked great with Skyrim and games that are only a few years old.
Cons: A little outdated now... New games you might need to upgrade to at least 4 cores. Or soon maybe even 6 cores to run properly.
Summary: Don't get this and expect a 4th core. That's is even if your bios support unlocking.
Pros: Built a system for a friend, requirements were as low cost as it could be with new parts and could play BF3. Got lucky and unlocked the 4th core and it was stable. Absolute min requirement for a BF3 CPU. IMO
Pros: It was a decent price. Runs almost as well as the Phenom 820 I broke. Had I known it wasn't a better CPU I would have gone elsewhere to order a Phenom as newegg didn't have one.
Cons: It's running hot Speedfan & HWInfo are telling me the temperature is about 70c on core 1, 50c on 2 with the 3rd running at 47C at idle. My understanding is that depending on case flow they should run between 30 & max 50C. I suspect mine is defective, I just have to figure out who to call to confi...
Summary: This CPU is adequate for everyday demands, multi-media chores and moderate gaming ( or for a replacement ). The included heatsink and fan, I have to say, are both utterly useless though and included solely out of necessity, so you'll need to supply those upgrades separately.
Summary: I bought 2 but I'm going to have to return them and get some that do write, other than that it's a great drive and by all means you should get it if all you're going to do Is read discs and not burn them.
