Summary: This processor went into a new Windows 7 build. Except for my error of not removing the plastic cover on the heat sink, this processor has performed flawlessly. This Windows 7 build is a disappointment (4 star rating) in that it does not seem to run much faster than my single processor XP 64 bit system. The only noticeable difference is in the boot - the Win 7 system is much faster.
Summary: So far I have no complaints with my new CPU (Athlon II X3 445 Rana 3.1Ghz); I have a motherboard that is able to un-lock disabled cores and was able to turn this into a Quad core 3.1Ghz CPU. It is fast, stable, and runs cool even with just the heatsink/fan that came with it in the box.
Summary: Mine ended up being a Propus core, which means it will not have L3 Cache if unlocked. Which kind of sux if you play cpu intensive games like Everquest 2. But, w/ propus there is a high chance you will get the 4th core unlocked which I did. :) So its a toss up, but a darn good price vs performance deal! Id recommend getting the x3 AM3 Phenom II OEM and buying a cpu heat sink if you are not worried about a 3 year warranty.
