  • Pros: Unlocked on first try to 4 cores and it's been running strong for over 5 years now.

  • Summary: It runs soooo coool. idles about 28 Celcius on stock cooling. Anybody who could buy this should buy this
  • Pros: This proccessor is fast alone without anything being done. Fan is also very good! 3000+ rpms. I saw reviews about overclocking and unlocking the 4th core....It works good. I have it at 3.6 ghz and unlocked the 4th core with l3 cache in about 4 minutes.

Good deal, works great

Cory M., Newegg
20 July 2010
  • Summary: Really good for budget builds. From what I understand, the X3's are almost always good unlocks.
  • Pros: I unlocked the fourth core perfectly stable. No OC, unfortunately, because it isn't being used as a gaming computer and it's not necessary.
  • Cons: Unlocking turns off temp sensors? :)

Wow

Steven F., Newegg
17 July 2010
  • Summary: It was time for a new PC and I have been reading about the new Phenom II's and Athlon II's. The cpu is a smoker before being unlocked and reall scorches unlocked.
  • Pros: This is a excellent processor as an X3 , it runs about 34 idling with an AMD heatpipe cooler. After playing with for a month I decided to try unlocking it and Voila it is now a Phenom II X4 B35 , complete with 6 mb of L3 cache. Fantastic deal.
  • Cons: none yet

Great Processor

Anthony H., Newegg
7 July 2010
  • Summary: I got this processor because there is typically a premium for processors once you hit the "nice number" such as 3.0. The 2.9 is plenty fast for me and I've had no problems with it yet.
  • Pros: Great processor. I've had no problems with it yet. Very fast and great performance so far.
  • Cons: The only issue I've had with it is playing the game "Borderlands". It didn't like the different cores, so when I run the game, I have to set the processor to only run on one core. I think that is the game's fault though, not the processor's.

Incredible Value

John D., Newegg
7 July 2010
  • Summary: I will gladly upgrade this processor to another AMD down the road, fantastic job all around.
  • Pros: -Price -Speed -Potential to unlock I just upgraded from a once top of the line intel system from 2005. Hard to believe such an affordable processor can do such an incredible job. Last time I used an AMD it was a Thunderbird. This is just a great chip with great features and has some decent legroo...
  • Cons: Costs less than going out to dinner with my girlfriend
