Summary: HEY! This little baby really hopped-up the performance of a junky old HP Pavilion Tower that I upgraded. Like Night & Day from the original AMD Athlon 4300+, well worth the small $ investment :~]
Summary: I'm a little disappointed, I thought that this chip would fit on a socket 939 board, but no way! Had to buy another chip because I was trying to avoid buying what would amount to a bare bones kit. Better read the fine print next time.
Summary: The Athlon 64 x2 processor (Used) was in excellent shape. It was well packaged and I found it was cleaned, basically ready to go. Great care was taken in its packaging. Plugged in and applied heat sinc compound with new cooling fan and it is running at peak perfomance.
Pros: Replaced my single core 4000+ Works well Runs at 25 C
Cons: with a second core and 200mhz faster I expected a bigger performance difference. My 4000+ 2.6 had a system latency of 56.3 ns. and with the x2 5600+ my latency is now 50.1 ns. but the 4000+ had a temp of 40 C
Summary: I swapped out the stock AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ for this 5600+. My Win 7 WEI jumped from a 4.7 score for my CPU to a 5.9. This also boosted my RAM WEI from 4.7 to 6.4. My E521 really performs much faster overall.
Summary: I bought this for because my processor was failing. shipping was fast and was safely arrived to my house. For a used CPU it was AWSOME!!! It was a really good upgrade from my failing CPU (Athlon 64 x2 5000+). Take care in mind that this is a WINDSOR CPU and check to make shure your pc is compatible.
