Summary: I upgraded to this CPU, from a Sempron processor hoping to get a little better performance from my computer. I was happily surprised after the upgrade to find that the speed and performance on my computer had doubled from what it had been, this is an excellent CPU and I highly recommend it. But please note that you must be running 64-Bit Operating System to achieve the full performance that this CPU offers.
Summary: Nice to have a source for an admittedly obsolete microprocessor, competitively priced. Unadorned with fancy packaging, but clean (no residue of previously applied heat transfer compound), original markings clearly visible, all pins straight. Install with your own heatsink/fan, thermal compound, and go. Good to be able to keep my old but perfectly functional machines going.
Summary: Brought this CPU to upgrade and older HP compaq presario. This CPU install fine, though I did have issues at first with the install but all ended up well after I had to take out the old memory and install new memory. Great and cheap CPU upgrade, highly recommended.
Summary: it came with bent legs, some tips flattened out like tiny little circles. Since I am in electronics and repair, I straightened legs, and squeezed the flanged-out pins(legs) and inserted in my present back-up computer to hopefully speed it up a little. It didn't work, drat! So I put the old cpu back in and it works just fine.
