AMD Athlon 64 4000+ & FX-55: A Thorough Investigation
17 August 2005
Conclusion: As we've shown just in the final pages of this review, AMD's launch of the Athlon 64 4000+ doesn't mean all that much other than bragging rights. The justification of the rating is questionable, as is the release of the processor, since it is little more than a rebadged FX-53 with some of its...
Summary: The Athlon 64 4000+ and FX-55 are easily the fastest x86-compatible PC processors available, and we haven't even gotten into testing 64-bit code that could widen the gap. The new Athlon 64 models are faster overall than anything Intel has to offer, and their gaming performance is particularly...
Excerpt: The last flagship processor released from AMD came on June 1st of this year and brought us the 939-pin processor platform. With that package, AMD finally promised us a long-term product line with a continuous socket that would allow users to have at least a reasonable upgrade path.
AMD Raises the Bar: AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 and AMD Athlon 64 4000+ CPUs Review
18 October 2004
Summary: AMD has been very productive in terms of new CPU announcements lately. Today they introduced two new members of their Socket 939 processor family: Athlon 64 4000+ and Athlon 64 FX-55. Both these CPUs are the last solutions based on 0.13micron core.
Conclusion: Back when we took our first look at the Athlon 64 FX-53 on its fledgling Socket 939 interface, we determined that there wasn’t a whole lot of extra performance to be had by moving to the new socket, but the upgrade path would be made more secure.
Conclusion: AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 - Page 9 Conclusion The FX-55 is top of AMD's 64-bit family line and probably the best processor available on the market right now. Even though it still lacks in application performance compared to Intel processors, its advantage in games more than makes up for it.
Pros: Excellent game performance, Cheaper than the Intel P4 Extreme Edition
Cons: Unsatisfactory computational performance, Unaffordable by mid-range computer users
Test na szczycie: Pentium 4 EE 3,46GHz kontra Athlon 64 FX-55
1 December 2005
Summary: Przeprowadzone porównanie ukazuje słabość obecnie stosowanej architektury Intelowskich P4 EE.
