Summary: I ordered this to upgrade my Phenom II X4 955 BE system. My motherboard is the MSI 790FX-GD70 with 4x2GB DDR3, a XFX Radeon HD 7870 video card, CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ cpu heatsink, a pile of SSD drives, and running Win XP64 Pro. I actually received a tray Black Edition CPU in the retail box rather than the box Black Edition CPU but since AMD warranty is a long ago memory this is a non-issue.
Summary: I've been using this processor for over two years on my main computer and it still feels high-end. I can be encoding videos, copying/moving files around, browsing, playing games, and doing some Photoshop all at the same time, and there is no slow down. It doesn't matter whether or not there is actually 6 real cores, it sure feels like it. I was running Windows 7 and now Windows 8.1, I cannot tell of any speed difference since this processor already runs so fast.
Summary: I purchased this in 2011, back when Iwas broke. For the money and at the titimeit was the best available for my needs gaming and the 6 cores for photoshop and maya. Now I have way more cashflow so im upgrading to Intel 6 core ivy bridge. I still think intel is overpriced but theres no doubting they make the feraris of cpus. If you are on a budget this is still a great cpu I dont know much about bulldozer or pile driver there may be better options.
