Summary: something weird...my motherboard auto overclocked it to 4.0 cpu and 1600 on the gpu and ran test after test (cpu id , gpu z , caps viewer, 3d mark games) the overclock was real. Was able to push it to 2000mhz
Pros: Makes modern games playable Overclocks very very well (both cpu and gpu ) Runs windows 8 smoothly with 3 gbs of ram 3 cores 3 threads 3 mbs of cache Clocked at 4.0ghz stable on cpu Clocked at 2000mhz stable on radeon 6530d
Cons: Stock fan Loud shook my case (mini itx) temps where off by -30 degrees (would show 25-28 degrees) Reaches above 80 degrees sometimes overclock will throdle back to 2.1 if it hits above 80 only 512 mbs on graphics
Summary: In the end this is a pretty good APU for a good price but for me specifically it's not what I'm looking for, but for lighter users I would recommend this APU. Here's my PC specs if you wanna see -A6-3500 (that one was kinda obvious) -GIGABYTE Radeon HD 6670 1GB -4GBs or DDR3 Ram (not sure on the...
Pros: This CPU will get the job done for your average everyday browsing the web, watch HD videos and normal things that's some what light usage on the APU. I've had this APu for over a ear now and gets the job done for a low price and low power consumption. Cheap, snappy, and reliable up to this point ...
Cons: The main reason I gave this 4 eggs is because my PC is a mid range gaming PC. This APU can actually run TF2 on low settings at around 40 FPS which was surprising to me (at the time I didn't have a dedicated GPU for my PC). But on heavier games like Crysis or BF3 or even assassins creed (the first...
Summary: I would highly recommend this APU for builders on a budget. Not only are you getting a relatively inexpensive processor that works just fine for the basics, you also can save money on a graphics card and put the savings into a SSD or more RAM.
Pros: Plenty of speed for a basic build. Unless you're running high-end, graphic-intensive games you won't need a separate graphics card. Video playback, etc is great straight from the APU.
Cons: Mine had a bent pin that kept it from seating on the motherboard. It took about two minutes to bend it back to where the CPU would seat properly, but once I got it seated, the computer booted right up and it worked fine.
Summary: First build with AMD cpu, lot of firsts on a HTPC build. Was a challenge to get running, but the CPU didn't seem to be an issue. Once everything up and running, got good speeds and temperatures.
Pros: Value for processing and graphics power Low power CPU
Cons: stock heat sink levers stick out far, easily pushed by accident
Summary: I bought this to build a HTPC and was hoping that I'd be able to get a SteamBox out of it as well. I didn't get a SteamBox, but I got a great HTPC. I do my Blu Ray/DVD ripping on a different computer, so this processor is just doing playback and it's handled full 1080 Blu Ray mkv rips no problem.
Summary: All in all, this is a brilliant CPU. It works great for what it does and it does basic computing tasks too. I was able to play minecraft at 1080P but i haven't really played much else.
Pros: Extremely good performance to power consumption/$ ratio. I mainly wanted to comment on this as i mentioned i wanted to measure power consumption. I bought a kilawatt power measuring device to see just how much power this takes. With handbrake encoding, i easily max out all cores but the device wa...
Cons: The thing has no balls when it comes to handbrake. This has lead me to considering the A8 and one of these corsair water cooling setups. google shows many people using this setup with my case so i am researching fans that will not be blocked by the PSU in the case
