decent end of life kicker for FM2

Robert W., Newegg
11 December 2015
  • Summary: due to shipping snafu, took over 1 week to travel from south san francisco to san francisco, a distance of about 10 miles.
  • Pros: Somewhat faster than the trinity 65w that it replaced, reasonable price
  • Cons: Updating the AMD drivers on Win7/64 took some trial and error. Using their 'system analyzer' installer version worked fine. No problem with Linux Mint.

AMD A10-6800K Richland 4.1GHz Processor

Steven A., Newegg
21 October 2015
  • Pros: Wasn't DOA, worked well for idle tasks like web browsing etc.
  • Cons: NOT FOR PC GAMING! IF YOU'RE A PC GAMER STAY AWAY! Amd processor have always been inferior to Intel in terms of quality for a while now. The price however was so good it suckerd me in. Can barley run BF4 and GTA 5 on low settings. I thought it was my GPU at first but no, its the processor not bei...

not for extreme use

robert r., Newegg
24 March 2015
  • Summary: If a desktop everyday pc is what you want its good for that. DO NOT buy this for anything thats cpu intense or you wont be able to use this at all.
  • Pros: This is a ok processor if you dont plan to peg it to 100% and keep it there. If it stays at 100% it will overheat and shut the PC down. And i am using a all in 1 water cooler to.
  • Cons: Not good for use if your gonna peg it out all the time but good for a regular everyday desktop PC. I was encoding and live streaming with OBS and this kept overheating ans slowing down then rebooting.

AMD A10 8600K Richland - Overheating

Nathan P., Newegg
8 March 2015
  • Pros: Good price. Packaging was intact.
  • Cons: Processor is running at 49-81C in Windows. 81C at peak during startup (which is minimal in load.) Tried the original thermal paste, that came installed on the heatsink, then tried the following methods for applying the Arctic Silver: I'm not here to debate which is best.. pea, line, x, +, and now...

Its an AMD APU - You get what you pay for I suppose......

Frank N S., Amazon
22 December 2014
  • Summary: I keep trying to find reasons to like an AMD CPU. The Intel LGA 1366 920 this build replaced TBH was as fast as this one IMO. I guess its good for a budget chip, but these APU's are not my first choice.

Decent Movie watcher and homeworker

Ash, Amazon
18 June 2013
  • Summary: Kinda good if you're an average pc user bet don't expect miracles. If you want a cpu for gaming just go for the AM3+ FX 6300 or FX 8320 and up with a new motherboard and graphics card.
