a great old technology phone

Robert L., Newegg
16 March 2014
  • Summary: I bought this because I needed a good replacement speaker phone. This is a very old but very solid model. I purchased the newer Panasonic KX-TS840B which is complete grabage. The sound on the speakerphoneofn the TS840 for those receiving the call was useless.
  • Pros: Great sound on headset and speakerphone both for caller and receiver. Solid and easy to use controls
  • Cons: no caller id.

  • Excerpt: While this phone appears to have caller ID, since it does have an LCD display on the panel, it does not. The LCD only displays number dialed, time of day, and a call timer. NO CALLER ID. This phone is WAY too expensive to not have this feature.
  • Pros: Easy to Use
  • Cons: Short Battery Life, Display Screen, Performance, Expensive

Good but could be better

dbirn, PriceGrabber
2 July 2006
  • Summary: I bought this phone because it has a headset jack. Nowhere in the advertising did it say that it even took batteries, let alone required them to turn on the headset or speakerphone off-line, so that was a disappointment. It takes 3 AA batteries. Batteries are also required for the display.
  • Pros: Disconnects automatically when other party disconnects.
  • Cons: Needs battery to turn on speakerphone, or headset off-line; or to use other features. Buttons sometimes unintentionally press twice. Number dialed and time of call are gone right after you hang up.

Panasonic Speaker phone

22 June 2006
  • Summary: It is a good phone. These days, the cheap phones are just too light when compared to the good old AT&T Trimline. This phone has a solid feel. I guess it could a bit smaller.
  • Pros: Solid, LCD display, and speakerphone
  • Cons: Need batteries for the speakerphone to work on hook.

Good phone for home office

bozenalak, PriceGrabber
24 April 2006
  • Summary: I purchased this phone to replace my cordless one (I never remembered where I put it) these days it's almost impossible to find corded phones in the stores, I don't know really why, I have been using the phone for the last two months, the sound quality is very good, price is right.
  • Pros: Very clear speakerphone, mute button, nice ring.
  • Cons: I wish there was a wider volume range (kind of like we have on TV sets)
