a great old technology phone

Robert L., Newegg
16 March 2014
  • Summary: I bought this because I needed a good replacement speaker phone. This is a very old but very solid model. I purchased the newer Panasonic KX-TS840B which is complete grabage. The sound on the speakerphoneofn the TS840 for those receiving the call was useless.
  • Pros: Great sound on headset and speakerphone both for caller and receiver. Solid and easy to use controls
  • Cons: no caller id.

Speaker & Headset have feedback

bigbbfan, Target
4 March 2010
  • Summary: I work from home alot & purchased this phone to use for conference calls. I selected it because it is a speaker phone that also has a headset jack. However the sound quality isn't good. I had feedback when using the speaker or the headset. I tried moving the handset away from the speaker but it doesn't help. The only way to eliminate the noise was to keep it on mute. I also was surprised to find that the phone does not have Caller ID.

Good phone - but no caller ID

27 December 2007
  • Summary: I was looking for a good speaker phone with sufficient speed dial capability for my home office. The KX-TS108W fits the need, but I assumed it had caller ID when I purchased the phone. Hard to get used to when the state-of-the-art in phones is caller ID.

Good but could be better

dbirn, PriceGrabber
2 July 2006
  • Summary: I bought this phone because it has a headset jack. Nowhere in the advertising did it say that it even took batteries, let alone required them to turn on the headset or speakerphone off-line, so that was a disappointment. It takes 3 AA batteries. Batteries are also required for the display. Even with batteries though, the number dialed and time of call are gone forever right after you hang up. The sound is good, though the volume control could use more range.
  • Pros: Disconnects automatically when other party disconnects.
  • Cons: Needs battery to turn on speakerphone, or headset off-line; or to use other features. Buttons sometimes unintentionally press twice. Number dialed and time of call are gone right after you hang up.

Panasonic Speaker phone

No Name, PriceGrabber
22 June 2006
  • Summary: It is a good phone. These days, the cheap phones are just too light when compared to the good old AT&T Trimline. This phone has a solid feel. I guess it could a bit smaller.
  • Pros: Solid, LCD display, and speakerphone
  • Cons: Need batteries for the speakerphone to work on hook.

Good phone for home office

bozenalak, PriceGrabber
24 April 2006
  • Summary: I purchased this phone to replace my cordless one (I never remembered where I put it) these days it's almost impossible to find corded phones in the stores, I don't know really why, I have been using the phone for the last two months, the sound quality is very good, price is right. Overall, very good phone.
  • Pros: Very clear speakerphone, mute button, nice ring.
  • Cons: I wish there was a wider volume range (kind of like we have on TV sets)
