On second thought, NOT Recommended!

Summary: Though, at first, clarity tended to be a bit "tinny," performance was pretty much as claimed. BUT AFTER THREE DAYS, THE UNIT FAILED COMPLETELY. I cannot change the original star rating. But even ONE would be too high!
Summary: Within a week Telepnoe stopped working. First, I thought Battery is dead so I went to Walmart paid $15 for new battery. Still phone did not work. I called the company technical assistace. Technicain within in minutes sounded resigened with the fact that nothing can be done. He said return to them and suggested I should replace with model (I beleive 5100 , one with caller ID, but only by paying more).
Summary: For starters, I have no hearing impairment. I purchased this for my mother-in-law who has very poor hearing. I tested it before giving it to her, and promptly returned it to Amazon. There are loud, cyclical static blasts when the phone is in use, even without using the DEAFENING burst feature. I tried (unsuccessfully) changing channels and adjusting the tone and volume to correct this issue. Voices, including my own, sounded tinny and barely recognizable.
Summary: We purchased this phone for my mother-in-law whose hearing is compromised. It works very, very well. The "boost" button is a great feature. Since someone else answers the phone for her, the phone can be set to answer at normal volume. Before you hand the phone to her, you press the "boost" button and it increases the volume dramatically. It has been a very good phone for her. The only con I can think of is its size. It is a little hard for her to hold.
Summary: This phone is GREAT if you have trouble hearing on a regular phone. I only have two minor complaints that kept me from giving it 5 stars: #1 It's bulky. I got it for my 93 year old mother & she doesn't like it because it's too big & heavy for her. I then gave it to my 100 year old Aunt who loves it! #2 Theres a bit of an echo when talking. You hear your own voice bouncing back to you. If you can get over these two issues I highly recommend this phone!
