Summary: For non-techy people who are not in a hurry and would like a simple legacy style home copier that works reliably, this is the one to get while it can still be bought new. I have used a PC400 for over 12 years (it still works) and recently bought the PC430 due to Canon discontinuing the 400 series in favor of the pathetic PC170, which I do not want when my PC400 finally dies.
Summary: Easy set-up and to use. Paper feed tray much more convenient than a single sheet model. To copy on both sides of a paper is a little awkward. Knowing which way to flip the paper over and re-feed it for a back of the sheet page 2 that's right-side up to the first page often results in having to run a second copy to get it right. Copier should have a simple instruction visible on the unit itself when operating. I use an ink marker. Replacement toners are expensive.
Summary: I am a senior citizen and am so pleased with my new copier. It is easy for me to use. I had my old Canon copier for a lot of years and when it wouldn't work anymore, I was so disappointed - but my son found this one and was sure it was just what I wanted - so I ordered it and it came in just a few days. I had no problem setting it up and it works great. It is in a price range that I can afford and am just so pleased that I have this copier.
Summary: Bought this copier (via Amazon) about 2 years ago and almost from the start it printed very light, almost illegible copy. We did all the required cleanings and buffings and installing new cartridges but, in the end, I go to Staples. And getting through to Canon takes an act of the will, just waiting to be heard---and then they tell us to do what we have already done.
Summary: This is our second PC430. The first one finally died after 10 years...when I found out that Canon still makes it, I did not hesitate in a minute and bought another. Very reliable and makes great copies...
