Summary: Con: scanner only works for USB, you cannot scan doc from a network connection. wired network only, no wireless network. noise level is high when it is pringing. very heavy. Pro: Auto Doc. Feeder is smart, it takes almost any condition of paper. scan speed is fast. printing quality is good. easy to use. 2-side print/scan. print server is easy to setup. build quailty is very good. since it has no wireless network, I connect it to a wireless bridge.
Summary: I have to admit, I didn't like this machine from the beginning. The documentation is almost hopeless, and the interface certainly is. Whoever designed the interface has little comprehension of what is "intuitive". You will find yourself running to the manual constantly, but to little avail because, apparently, it was written and organized by someone who reluctantly took up English at the age of 50.
Summary: I have had this machine for six months. I use it mostly to copy/print large two-sided documents. The duplexer has never jammed. Not once. Print quality is excellent. Fax function works well also. It's a bit noisy when it's operating, but silent when in sleep mode. No complaints. I wish all electronics were made like this.
Summary: We bought this unit to replace another Canon unit which worked very well for many years. Unfortunately this unit was defective from the beginning. The paper would feed properly from the paper tray. Beware of the Amazon return policy, the suppliers return policy, the manufacturers warranty and the extended warranty which Amazon sells. First, the Amazon return policy is only within the first three days after you receive the product.
Summary: Canon MF6590 Duplex Copier, Printer, and Color Scanner with Super G3 Fax Canon had a huge rebate on this so I just bought it on the spot not having a possibility to do some research. Yes it does not scan over the network, at least the manual says it does not but that is not a huge setback for me as one of my computers is connected to it via a USB port anyway. One thing that I miss more a wireless connection, without it you must setup the printer near a network outlet.
Summary: The copy, and Scan features work great. Printing from the main paper drawer works great. The side tray does not want to take the sheets of labels every time. This can be frustrating. Otherwise, good product.
Summary: Comments about Canon imageCLASS MF6590 Multifunction Printer: Great multi-function device. The scanner software is a very handy tool and works like a champ. The ONLY reason this machine doesn't get 5-stars is that it cannot be used as a NETWORK SCANNER. It can only be set up to scan via USB. Other than that, it has been working great in every mode. Very happy.
Summary: I purchased the Canon MF6590 as an upgrade to an HP injet All-in-one (6310). I was looking for duplex scanning and printing. These functions work perfectly (with the one caveat that to scan, you must use the USB connection rather than the network connection). Primary difference between this machine and comparably priced machines is the ability to scan 2 sided documents.
Summary: This network ready printer/copier/scanner/fax was purchased for the office about a week ago. It arrived, and was installed on the network without any significant issue. I left for the weekend, after discarding the packaging, and returned this morning to finish the network installation. It was then that I discovered that this network ready printer/copier/scanner/fax isn't really all that network ready.
Summary: I was very happy with the service and condition of my new MF6590 Canon Duplex copier/printer/fax/scanner. Everything was in good order. I received the machine quickly (4 days) and everything was in excellent condition. The copier / printer works vewry well. I would use this supplier again. Price was excellent and shipping charges were reasonable.
