Summary: We replaced an aging gas enameled cook top with this ceramic one (white). It usually cleans very easily with just some 409. Occasionally you need to use the cleaner / polisher supplied with the cook top to remove stubborn burnt on stuff close to the burners. The burner covers are coated with some amazing space-age finish as well: a soapy plastic scrubber will clean off burnt on gunk and make them look brand new.
Summary: "Your company has really got their act together. I priced my new GE cooktop both locally and extensively on line. I could not beat your price ( not to mention the no gimmick free shipping. The excellent communication from you on the whole shipping procedure and follow up allowed me to coordinate a seamless installation on my end. I'll be shopping for a new dishwasher soon.
Summary: The knobs are cheap and the unseparated iron grates are thin and flimsy. Ours quickly became unlevel and now I can't sear very easily because the oil pools on one end of the pan. Extremely poor design and I'm surprised GE even associates them selves with such a poor product.
Summary: Whatever you do - do not buy this item from Warehouse Discount Center in CA. They have horrible customer service. They will not give out the managements name or customer service persons name or any responsible party that you can talk to or contact. They are absolutely horrible - Do not buy appliances based soley on price - especially from an outfit like this one with such poor customer service.
Summary: I am so disappointed with this GE stovetop- after waiting a while to replace my last one, I was disappointed in this one in regard to cleaning. It is actually difficult to clean the grey grids as well as the white stovetop area- it already scratched and I am sick about it. I do use Cerama Bryte but more than a little elbow grease is needed. There has to be something that cleans easier than this with all the new technology!
