I hate this cooktop and am so disappointed that I didn't ...

Summary: We had to have this cooktop replaced on one occasion. We are now on the second one, and still are having problems. I smell gas from the knobs and have had various technicians acknowledge that there is a gas smell, but they have been unable to locate the leak. Further, the front right burner takes forever to light. I've noticed that it lights when I also light the back right burner. So strange.
I asked someone with the same stove what they liked about it

Summary: It's all true. The negative reviews. What a fabulous ad campaign featuring Kelly Ripa, however, the product is not so fab. The center burner does take several clicks before turning on. It JUST happened as I'm typing this. Tonight, the 2 middle knobs melted from using the cast iron grill ( which came with the purchase) on the center burners. What happened ? Simply cooking with the grill where it says to be placed.
Excerpt: The variety of burner sizes is convenient, and there is good control of temperature settings. After a year, I feel I'm still learning how to get the center 2-ring burner to ignite, as it's tricky. Now that I have a continuous grate, I understand why they are considered convenient. I appreciate that the knobs are metal so they don't melt if a hot baking pan out of the oven happens to land on top of one. (I have friends with other cooktop brands where the knobs melt.
Excerpt: The knobs to control the flames are made of cheap plastic so they melt when you use any large skillets or pots. In addition the sleeve of the know which fits over the burner control is plastic and breaks with normal use. They are $35 a piece to replace and I have now replaced the entire set three times! It's very frustrating and I would never buy this cooktop again.
Excerpt: My wife and I put this in our new build along with other Electrolux icon appliances. While we did choose to downgrade and not get the icon cooktop, we were still very impressed. It is stylish and efficient. Also it is easier to keep clean than we thought given it is all stainless steel.
Excerpt: iam a married 73 year old woman and my husband have just updated our 30 year old house and this just fit in the space where a ugly stove used to be. My wife (husband ) loves to cook and we love it.He probably should have been a chef and not a dozer guy.
Excerpt: Love this cooktop very expensive looking. Love the feature of boiling water in just a few minutes. Easy to keep clean. My husband picked this out and I am so glad he did. Would recommend this cooktop.
Excerpt: Prefer cooking on gas, so when the old electric cooktop that came with the house died, I upgraded to this. I love how I can slide a pan over the surface smoothly, the different level of BTUs available on different burners, and the space between the burners. Read some other reviews before I bought, and yes the center burner does click a while before it starts and the stainless steel can scratch if your not careful, but overall I've had no problems.
