Best Cooktop Ever

  • Excerpt: This appliance is outstanding! Nothing can top the amount of MINIMAL time it takes to heat up food or water. Simply amazing! I am so happy with this purchase, clean-up is a breeze, functionality cannot be compared. In the past I always had gas cook tops-be gone those to the past. This cook top is far superior to those.

  • Excerpt: Bought this two years ago, absolutely love it, especially the induction side. But year and half into it one of the larger burner went out( the one you use the most), while that was getting repaired another sensor went out, ( very costly repairs) Few months later I was cooking and has all burners going at once, heard pop and everything shut down, called repair person , it wood cost me another 600 or so.

Max Live 5 years

  • Excerpt: I bought this cooktop, 5 years and three month ago. and it was top price then , I liked the idea to have both options, Induction and ceramic in the same cooktop. At the time the store offered me an extended warranty which I purchased, 5 years a three months later Error 32 start flashing all over and no one of the cooking options will work,  I did some research and I found that this is a very common problem a bad design electric board will bring that error often.

Never go bck

  • Excerpt: I live in the country and natural gas is not available. For years I struggled with a regular electric stove; often burning things after turning them down to a lower temperature. The induction system is absolutely wonderful. When you turn it down, it actually cools off immediately. So it has the best feature of natural gas, but without the dangerous feature of a burning flame. I love it.

  • Summary: "This cooktop looks great and it is very easy to clean. The controls are easy to use and it wont heat anything but the pan. The glass seems a bit sensitive but it doesnt break easily. Just be careful with it.

Simply Amazing

  • Excerpt: We have had each generation of smoothtop since their debut. This is the best ever and the size is great for the amount of cooking that we do. Burners are big enough for our larger pots and heat up amazingly fast, the layout of them allows for easy access also. Can't wait for first party to debut it!

Wonderful cooktop

sandyg, electroluxappliances.com

  • Excerpt: We LOVE this cooktop!! We especially love the way we can heat water for rice and spaghetti in almost no time flat, and we also appreciate the way induction cooking does not heat up the kitchen. The other electric cooking spots are fine, too - much faster than the burners we replaced. If I had known how great induction cooking is, I would have gotten the whole cooktop in that mode - I do believe it is as responsive as gas.

Totally disappointed., reviews.lowes.com
27 September 2011
  • Summary: We purchased the cooktop new and the induction burners didn't work from the get go, showing error codes. The repairman came out and found two sensors were bad and stated it was a common problem that could happen periodically. If it wasn't brand new and under warranty it would have been a $600 repair bill that could happen again. It's pretty bad when you spend $1700 for a product and it's defective when it comes out of the box.

Failed after two days

DenverEngineer, reviews.lowes.com
26 September 2011
  • Summary: Cooked two dinners on it before it failed with an E40 error code. Warranty tech came out and said it needed a "communications board" and a "touch panel" board. Parts are backordered EIGHT weeks. If you like spending thousands on a new cooktop only to have to cook out on the BBQ for two months afterwards, this would be your unit. Do yourself a favor and buy something else.
