Summary: This cooktop stopped working in the middle of cooking dinner. The appliance company said it will cost $750 for the new part plus labor. Electrolux offered to sell me the part for $650 plus S & H. The old cooktop was in the house when we moved in 14 years ago and it lasted all that time. I thought that by replacing it with the Electrolux that we'd get at least that much use of it. Right now, it's just a piece of junk on the counter.
Excerpt: I love the fact that I can place a towel on the cooktop when I am cooking. It helps to keep the cook surface clean. I have had this almost 2 years and still like to show off how quickly I can boil water.
A great looking and working unit AAAAAAAA++++++++++++++++

Summary: This unit is very nice looking and efficient -- looks good --controls good -- easy to regulate the heat setting -- instant on and instant off good feature -- is a little hard to keep looking good as it is difficult to keep the steaks off the ceramic glass and stainless steel but overall it is worth it --- would recommend and would purchase again with no regrets ---AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA_+++++++++++++++++ JEFF & Judy
Excerpt: I loved this cook-top (Model # EW30CC55GS) from day one. We paid a ton of money for it,but the features were worth it to me. I highly suggest buying the best service plan you can get. Reason for that is that mine bit the dust just after 3 years! So so sad... I spent the last 2 weeks looking for another with the same features and could not find one I liked. Yes, I did it again. Just bought another one of these. Now I have a 5 year plan from Sears that I can re-new.
Excerpt: I purchaaws an electtrolux Radiant/Inducton Electric Cooktop, oven, and dishwasher in 2009. These were very expensive but I thought I was buying the best. Two years ago the dishwasher stopped working. I had to buy a new one. Yesterday the cooktop stopped working. I really can't believe they didn't last longer than this. I am so disappointed. I have family coming in for the holidays and no way to cook unless I buy a new cooktop.
Summary: PROS - Induction cooktop technology is truly amazing and the only heat that is given off is the heat in the pot/pan. The induction side takes less than half the time to heat the pan and boil water as the regular elements, and is overwhelmingly faster than the highest btu gas burner in my previous cooktop. CONS - I wish I bought a full induction cooktop. I also wish I bought a unit with no stainless border trim.
Summary: "I like the fact that it has both radiant and induction cooking elements. This allows me to continue using my existing pots that don't have the steel / iron bottom core. Induction cooking is a lot quicker and more precise cooking. It also helps loosen any stuck on stain or grime on the pot during the cooking process and may transfer onto the cooktop. If you catch it early, you can wipe it off after the area cools down.
Summary: We bought a house that already had this cooktop. It is very nice looking - sleek and modern. Obviously you have to buy different pots and pans to utilize half of the stove. The stove broke before could buy the new kitchenware. The plastic edge around the surface of the panel collects lot of dirt and grime. The cooktop itself is a lot of work o keep clean. Any food that touches the glass requires delicate cleaning.
Summary: The black top is sleek and the induction side of this hybrid is fast. You are buying two burners only because the conventional side has a fan to cool the elements that will drive you mad. It is really loud and remains running for longer than it takes you to cook ! You cannot eat in the same room as the cook top. Did I mention that yesterday the whole control panel lit up with error signs and we now have NO COOKTOP ! Who ever heard of a two year old range dying?
