Summary: Have used the cooktop for about three months. It has surpassed my expectations. I first saw induction cooking about 42 years ago in a high-end kitchen design store. Yes, 42 years ago. At the time, the units were installed randomly under glass that looked like tile. I didn't even know they were there among the other tiles on the counter. The Europeans are clearly ahead of everyone else in appliance innovation.
Summary: I've always used gas, so it took me awhile to get over wanting the chunky pro burner look, but I'm very glad I did. No more cleaning burners. Boiling water takes ridiculously little time. You can dial in any desired temp from the barest simmer to scorching hot. The lack of open flames make deep-frying less scary. The efficient spacing of the elements means you can actually use 4 pans at once. On my old gas stove, one large pot would crowd out 2 burners.
Summary: Purchased this and the Faber scirocco downdraft vent (vent is made in Italy) for installation in an island and they work great together. I studied a long time before purchasing. This cook top has larger burner near the back and closer to the vent which is ideal. Replaced an old Jenn-Air downdraft cook top/grill and used old venting to save money and work. Am amazed at how well this vent performs compared to last. Have had this duo one year with no problems.
Excellent Induction Cook Top - 500 Series, Model NIT506UC
30 April 2013
Summary: Review for the Bosch 500 Series, 30", Model NIT506UC We really like this cook top. We installed this in January 2013 after dithering for several years...."do we really want to give up our gas cook top?" We bought a small Max Burton single induction burner to give it a go; really liked it but that is like comparing a Ferrari to a compact car. They will both get you where you want to go but the Ferrari will get you there faster & in luxury. This Bosch really cooks.
Summary: I have the product and researched its attributes and liked the PotSense(tm) - Automatically Adjusts Cooking Element to the Size of the Pan Bottom" listed at their Bosch web site. This is a key feature if you understand how induction stoves work. Now that it is installed and I read the owners manual I found that I was to use a pan that was at least the size of the burner ring as seen on the top of the unit.
Summary: "One of 13 Bosch appliances currently in use including cooktop, microwave, single oven, double oven, two warming drawers, three dishwashers, large refrigerator, large refrigerator/freezer, and two single serve coffee makers. What more can I say!
Summary: Installed without issue. Gas performance (actually better) but with electric induction power and soo much cleaner. Great cooking experience. Boils water is seconds. Had to buy new pot/pans for induction system but that just made it all the better. Cleans easy and can be cleaned almost instantly since it cools soo fast. Also does not require the venting requiremts of gas.
