Works in C7 Chromebook

scott s., Newegg
8 February 2013
  • Summary: I've yet to run memtest86 on it (which may be easier said than done on a Chromebook) but the C7 recognizes the RAM.
  • Pros: Works.
  • Cons: Doesn't not work.

It Is RAM, and It Works

Kenneth C., Newegg
13 September 2012
  • Summary: RAM reviews should go like this...it either works or is DOA. If it is "DOA," make sure that you checked your system's RAM compatibility, before you slam the product.
  • Pros: Quality RAM. Works in both my Samsung i7 and i5 laptops.
  • Cons: None, it is RAM...it either works or it doesn't. Mine does; so will yours.

Quality RAM that Works

Travis U., Newegg
14 July 2012
  • Summary: For the price, I feel I got a good value and would recommend this product.
  • Pros: This single stick of 8 gigs of RAM works perfectly for my laptop update. My ASUS X54L only has one memory slot for RAM so being able to upgrade from 4 to 8 gigs was important to me. This Patriot RAM worked fine right out of the box, was physically installed easily, and the system recognized it instantly without me having to do anything. Also the packing on this RAM was simple and not a massive pile of plastic with sharp corners and glued together edges.
  • Cons: None

Bad first experience

Raudel S., Newegg
10 July 2012
  • Summary: I was impressed with the delivery time 3 days, i did not need it urgently.. Worked great the first day in use, when darkness fell i placed my computer into sleep mode and placed it under my bed. In the afternoon i took it out to use and was hit by a blue screen i thought "MC afee piece of ..." so i went and got a Norton AV disc to do a spyware check, The AV was unable to work properly so i thought oh wow this is bad..
  • Pros: Worked great for 1 day
  • Cons: Worked great for 1 day

They're the Same

Lewis P., Newegg
9 July 2012
  • Summary: I like the design better than the G.Skill version since there aren't such high resistors sticking up at the top of the board... It seems lower-profile by a tiny bit than the G.Skill single chip 8GB SODIMM...
  • Pros: It's cheap and works for me in Zotac id61 mini-PC. No problems seen here. The main point is the price! there was a rebate when I bought it, making it the cheapest option for what I wanted. I have a feeling most all 1333 DDR3 SODIMM single-boards are more or lesss the same performance.. CAS latency here was the same as others
  • Cons: None to mention

Uh oh!

Jonathan H., Newegg
29 June 2012
  • Summary: Thanks to Newegg's great RMA process, I'll have the replacement in before the mail-in rebate postmark date.
  • Pros: Purchased with 2-day shipping as I needed it quickly. One stick works great, and was larger and faster than the stick it replaced.
  • Cons: Second stick caused a bluescreen after about an hour of configuration and Windows updates. Memtest86+ 4.0a initially passed, but after leaving it on all night, it showed that the second stick started producing errors after extended use. It's apparent that others are having similar problems with poor QC. I normally wouldn't mind, but my client did need his computer back this weekend. He's going to have to make do with 8GB until the replacement second stick gets in to u...
