Good Ram with (some) problem.

MINH T., Newegg

  • Pros: 8 Gb per stick
  • Cons: I only get 16GB after installing 4 sticks in ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z motherboard. Product description never warned me about this issue.

Works as advertised

  • Summary: Replaced old 32G kit with this on AM3+ system, Gigabyte board. Using for some game serving VMs.
  • Pros: - Units tested for 5 days at rated settings, no errors. - Ram is cheap these days, and these are unthinkably big for some of us who have been in the game a while.
  • Cons: N/A

Works on Asus Z87-Pro motherboard. ...but one issue

Gene M., Newegg
2 January 2016
  • Summary: Yes I would recommend this product to others... good price for what I got. i7 4700k/Samsung SSD
  • Pros: Allows me to run more images in Photoshop - that is, batch process can be much larger and images come up faster. Listed in manual as one of the RAM sets I can use at 32 GB configuration.
  • Cons: When I run MaxxMEM test the numbers (copy-read-write) all look great except "Memory-Latency: 58.6 ns" appears slow with respect to listed benchmarks I see posted. I have to say if I didn't run the test I would have assumed all was well... and maybe it is.

  • Summary: My nephew recommends that I eventually buy a fan for the ram before next summer. My AMDFX 9590 8 core always heats up the other nearby parts. So I'll most likely do that.
  • Pros: According to my nephew It worked and passed the window memory diagnostic. Now I have the maximum amount of 32 gigs memory that my motherboard can support.
  • Cons: The heat spreaders are not that strong and feel fragile. But I guess that normal today compared to those tough solid metal heat spreaders of the past with no air vents.

Failed MemTest

Jonathan T., Newegg
18 October 2015
  • Summary: Huge thanks to Newegg who not only sent me a free replacement set to test, but paid for return shipping on both defective units! Simple phonecall and completely taken care of, top notch customer service!!!
  • Pros: looks cool
  • Cons: Ram consistently failed MemTest with large amounts of errors. Contacted newegg and received replacement set, which also failed memtest. Put back in my old Kingston set and had no errors at all. I highly recommend anyone who tries this ram to run a memory test to ensure a non-defective pair.

Fast and reliable ram

Bryan K., Newegg
16 June 2015
  • Pros: I decided to just max out the ram of the new board I was purchasing. I have to say I am very pleased. Good temps even at load, Haven't had the need to OC or anything but the option is there if need be. So far so good.
  • Cons: It wasn't free... ;)
