Excerpt: In preparation for the upcoming operating system upgrade to Mac OS X El Capitan, I decided to max out the RAM on my 6-year old Mid-2009 MacBook Pro 13-Inch notebook. Having recently replaced the rechargeable battery in this machine myself, I knew that upgrading the RAM would be an equally simple and...
Summary: I did this for a client of mine who inherited the mini and was looking to bring it up to speed in the RAM and OS department.
Pros: Worked just fine in a 2008 Core2Duo 2.0ghz mac mini (which maxed the computer out at 8gb, up from 2gb). Made a noticeable improvement with OS X Mountain Lion. Now just need to get it up to Yosemite.
Cons: None really. It cost more than PC memory which I have used on mini's before but it seemed to be a crapshoot. This stuff was worth the extra couple of bucks to get it right the first time.
