It's what you want for low profile memory

RONNIE B., Newegg
  • Summary: If you're concerned about memory compatibility with your motherboard or need low profile modules, this is your last stop.
  • Pros: Have been using Crucial memory for as long as I can remember. It's good stuff, and never lets me down. These particular modules only have heat spreaders on the sides, so they allow good clearance when the taller stuff just won't fit with your CPU cooler. Probably the most compatible DDR3 memory a...
  • Cons: Not the "coolest" looking memory out there.

Solid memory for the price

Patrick G., Newegg
25 March 2016
  • Summary: If you need quality memory for a good price and looks pleasing enough to the eye, look no further.
  • Pros: Fast, reliable, no complications whatsoever. Great price for 8 gigs of 1600!
  • Cons: Cosmetically, these are in between plain Jane and cool looking. The look of them doesn't matter to me, but it might to some.

Plug in and Go; compatible with other kits

Jesse W., Newegg
22 March 2016
  • Summary: I originally bought this kit a little over a year ago for a new X99 build - I decided to go with just 8GB, as DDR4 prices were quite high at the time. I was a little worried about compatibility between the 2 kits, as sometimes mixing kits can cause problems, but I plugged these in and they worked...
  • Pros: Simple, quick upgrade to allow Quad-channel mode on X99 platform Black PCB and understated colors blend in nicely with just about any build
  • Cons: None

Poor quality control

Lee D., Newegg
18 March 2016
  • Summary: I won't purchase these again, the cost savings wasn't worth the hassle. I went upscale to G.Skill and have had no issues since. I've even heard of Crucial switching IC manufacturers on the same part number. That can cause a world of trouble with RAM and its just not worth the risk.
  • Pros: Cheap! Low profile compared to most RAM.
  • Cons: Doesn't work. These went in an ASUS RVE which is known for being very very RAM friendly. One stick was dead and another had a 40% drop out, at the kits rated speed. Return process is horrible, they just assume you are a criminal and are trying to scam them, but I provided ample documentation of t...

  • Pros: Never any issues whatsoever, either with various motherboards recognizing it or running at full speed.
