Summary: Make sure to account for the fact that the heat sinks are taller than standard ram... not an issue in my case, but some coolers won't allow for it. Thermaltake V3 AMD Edition case ASRock 970 Performance motherboard Windows 10 Home 64bit 3.3GHz AMD FX-8300 processor 8GB DDR3-1600 memory 2GB Nvidia...
Pros: - Easy compatibility with AM3+ platform... recognized at post without issue. - Mobo (ASRock 970 Performance) had no problem overclocking to 1600MHz base frequency.
Cons: None for me, but keep in mind that this ram's heat sinks are taller than standard chips.
Summary: I will never buy any Corsair RAM ever again. I use 2 corsair H100i coolers, they are good, but this RAM is garbage.
Pros: The red outfit looks cute.
Cons: ONLY 1366MHZ SPEED ON DEFAULT! IT DOES NOT RUN 1600MHZ! I TRIED XMP BUT IT FAILS AGAIN AND AGAIN. I BOUGHT A SET OF THIS (4Gx2). ONE OF THEM FRIED AFTER ONLY A WEEK! RETURN FEE COST ALMOST THE SAME AS A NEW 4GB RAM STICK. THE OTHER ONE WORKS, BUT 4GB OF RAM IS USELESS.
Summary: Watch clearances, barely had space with my 880 LE mobo, and older 90mm Rosewill cooler. I just did upgrade to new msi 970A-G43 Plus (MS-7974) board, with 4 sticks of this RAM, and EVO 212 Cooler. Had to position it vertically because the ramsticks were too close and too high to clear the CPU cooler.
Pros: No errors, performs and over-clocks well. Mated up with msi 970A-G43 board, and FX- 6300 CPU, clocked at 4200mhz from the stock 3500mhz and doing great.
Cons: Not a con so much as a caveat... Watch your clearances, the heat spreaders are really tall.
Pros: Very easy to put in, works just fine with my kingston RAM i already have in, nice upgrade to get a total of 16GB. Does ask you to look over your BIOS when you first start up, but you dont have to change anything when you do, just exit out and you'll start up windows no problem.
Pros: Great memory. I have 2 pairs here, totaling 16MB. They work great overclocked to 1866MHz with 10-10-10-26 setting. Very stable from gaming to heavy photo editing. They work great on my Intel i3, MSI Z97 PC Mate system.
