Summary: I purchased 2 of these to upgrade my laptop I just purchased. Both sticks were unresponsive. I had never used Corsair memory before and will never again. I could see maybe one as a fluke, but both?! I just made a purchase for Kingston Ram instead. A little more money, but I've never had any issues with their ram in my years of upgrading computers.
Summary: I bought this stick from another store other than NCIX. My RAM chip worked when I placed it into my PC though it crashed the next day. Upon using memtest86+ I found that my stick was defective within minutes. Before installing RAM make a boot USB/CD memtest86+ and run at least 3 passes on it to check for errors (if you're doing important stuff and decided not to get ECC ram, you'd want to run memtest86+ for 12+ hours - though 95% of defective RAM chips can be identified...
Pros: -Cheap, -Noticeable performance increase
Cons: -I happened to get unlucky and gotten a bad chip (not from NCIX) that crashed my system later on (though usually ram induced problems can be solved by removing the ram chip)
