[Review] Zalman Z7 Plus

27 August 2010
  • Conclusion: Overall, the Zalman Z7 Plus is an acceptable mid-tower chassis. It has some nice additions and features, as well as some areas where it’s lacking. The tool-free installation for the 5 1/4 bay drives and the PCI expansion slots are two great features of this case that we enjoyed using. Both of these make swapping things in and out extremely easy.

  • Summary: The Zalman Z7 Plus ATX Mid Tower chassis is a very decent chassis. Sure, no mistake here, we have seen better but they are more expensive as well. There are small flaws to be found in the chassis design, overall though it would get my thumbs up as the Z7 Plus simply offers great value for money. See this is a very affordable chassis at 55 EUR / 65  USD. For that cash you receive a Mid Tower chassis with a good and decent set of features.

Zalman Z7 Plus

  • Excerpt: Zalman, a company better known for its CPU coolers than chassis, hasn’t released a new case in a while, and its previous ATX-compatible entrants were not without flaws. But now Zalman’s back with a miniscule, low-cost mid-tower that sports some surprising features. So, what do 75 smackeroons get you these days? More than you might expect.
  • Pros: Great value; appealing exterior; roomy interior; fan-control dial on side panel.
  • Cons: No place for water-cooling radiator; lacks cable-routing cutouts in mobo tray; unpainted interior.

Tweak News
2 March 2010
  • Excerpt: First of all, the Z7 cases have a distinctive look and profile that sets them apart from most others in their class, particularly the Z7 Plus that we saw this time out. I really like the looks of this case and the cooling performance was quite good, particularly when one considers how quiet it can be by virtue of the side panel fan controller.

Zalman Z7 Plus Case Review

Hardware Secrets
12 February 2010
  • Summary: Zalman Z7 Plus has a very Spartan looks, especially when you compare it to other cases from Zalman. However, at a suggested price of only USD 75 (and will probably be found for less than that), we believe it will please the user looking for a case with features usually only available on more expensive models.

Zalman Z7 Plus review

6 March 2011
  • Excerpt: The Z7 plus is one of Zalman’s cheaper cases, but it looks just as good as the more expensive models. Its modular design provides plenty of flexibility when building a PC. Unlike other budget cases, the 3.5in drive cage can be easily repositioned to a higher point in the case to make it easier to fit full-length expansion cards. Rubber dampers help minimise vibration from any installed disks.
