ZALMAN MS800 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case My take.
Summary: Removing the top cover is possible for one person, with the proper tools, but two people are better. One standard 120mm fan can be mounted between the metal chassis & the plastic top cover, at the aft mount point, without any modification to the top cover.
Pros: Cost. Light for a steel / plastic case. Extra MOBO stand-offs. The foot long CPU 12v Extension cable. The front panel cables are long enough, not found in all other cases. Good case for a lot of trayless HD drive cages. The 120mm fans have air flow & rotation arrows cast in.
Cons: The need for the CPU 12v Extension cable, poor cable management. The top drive bay can be problematic for some uses because of the poor cable management. The flat aft panel gives no protection for peripheral plug-ins. This means that even more space is needed to be maintained behind the case to p...
Summary: I used this case as a file server, so I didn't install any graphics cards, just a MOBO, lots of NICs/SATA PCI-X cards and SATA hotswap bays.
Pros: -You can actually fit 10 external 5.25 bays in this thing. The three "internal" 3.5 bays can be removed to expose the bays as external 5.25's. This was perfect for what I needed (a file server with several external SATA hotswap cages). -I like the dust filter on the bottom, which makes cleaning t...
Cons: -I cannot seem to get the fan control on top to work, I hook the case fans up to it, but the knob doesn't seem to do anything to the fan speed. -Not thrilled with the top mount USB ports, but I needed all the front 5.25 bays and there really isn't any place else to place them without sacrificing ...
Pros: Plenty of expansion bays for dvd drives and hard drives, interior fan that cools the ram very well, plenty of spaces for fans, sturdy, professional looking, cant argue with 2x usb 2.0 and 3.0
Cons: my build was (main components) asus m5a97 le r 2.0, fx 8350, 16gb corsair dominator, corsair cx750 and gtx 760 (4gb). this case is slim so there isnt the best cable management with the 750w psu (non modular), and the airflow is okay, i added a second video card and the case couldnt take it and th...
Summary: It's a good case for the price. The blue led fan is realy cool. The fan are really silent. 2 USB and 2 USB 3 on the front and a place designed to put an iPod or a smart phone. The only concern is I received it and a foot is missing. But NCIX gonna send me one. No RMA needed for that.
Pros: Cool, Silent Fan, A lot of nice to have in a case
Summary: I ordered my CPU cooler (Corsair H60) when I ordered the case, if I'd notice the dual top fans (1 supplied with case) I'd likely have gone with the H120 double wide unit.
Pros: Very roomy on the "business side." Adequate cooling fans supplied. Sturdy except for the inserts (see Cons)
Cons: The area under the motherboard can be a bit cramped if you're running a lot of wire, it takes a little bit of care. I don't particularly care for the "front panel" being on the top, just a personal preference. The bay inserts aren't very secure and tend to pop out will moving the case.
Summary: Overall great case, the side panel issue actually made it feel more secure once I figure out how it works!
Pros: - Mash has dust filters! - Plenty of room to storage extra cables in the side panel - Built-in fan control - Black steel & Mash = Win Win - Very affordable!
Cons: - The side panels need to be inserted toward the direction of the front side before closing it like a regular side panel. (this cost the side panels to be hard to remove/reattach) - Internal racks are not tool free like it would seem it requires screws on both sides.
Summary: It broke a drill bit getting the middle part out! other than that, no problems at all. it's amazing.
Pros: The fans it comes with are very quiet. Hotspot bay is very convenient. LED fan lights up the case nicely. easy installation for everything LOTS of space.
Cons: Only problem it really had was the fan on the bar in the middle, you have to take it out in order to put in the motherboard. The screws were very tight and I could not get it to come off, eventually we took a drill bit and drilled through it. only reason why I took a egg off.
Summary: This a big case! It's a few inches taller than other mid-tower cases. The PSU mounts in the bottom of the case and only screws into the back panel. I would be hesitant to use this case on its side or transport it. Overall I am happy with the case.
Pros: My primary goal was a case that would hold as many HDDs as possible with good airflow around them, and the MS800 is perfect for this. It's also a sturdy, attractive case. Each drive bay has a pop-out mesh front so it's possible to add cages, HDDs, optical drives, whatever you want, and have a nic...
Cons: I would have given this case 5 eggs except for the following: The plastic mounting bar for the adjustable fan was attached to the case so tightly that the screws stripped upon removal. I thought I was going to have to break it to get it out but I was eventually able to remove it. The case has no ...
