Zalman HD135 Aluminum HTPC Case Review

27 May 2008
  • Conclusion: In a highly competitive market where manufacturers are each vying for a place in your living room, Zalman does bring a unique styled HTPC chassis to the table. The Zalman HD135 Aluminum HTPC Case is a nice low profile case that supports the use of a Micro ATX or ATX motherboard for simple installation of system components. The overall construction and build quality of the HD135 is top notch and this case will not look out of place next to stereo audio equipment.
  • Pros: Excellent construction and aesthetically pleasing design, Removable drive bays, Front USB, Audio and Firewire 1394 ports, Excellent storage capacity and expansion room, Built-in 16x2 VFD and IR receiver, Includes MediaBay/M-Play software and remote control, Low profile
  • Cons: Ventilation for the HD cage areas could be improved, Stealth 5.25" drive bay does not support slot loading optical drives, No Reset switch or HD activity LED, Bundled cooling fans are very noisy at full speed, High price tag

Zalman HD135 HTPC Case Video Review

30 January 2007
  • Summary: This product has Home Theatre PC case written all over it. It not only looks great and is quality built, but it comes with a Vacuum Florescent Display (VFD) and a fantastic remote control. One important feature about this case is that it fits all standard ATX hardware but remains slim, and this is a testament to its excellent design. A much more powerful system can be built using standard ATX hardware over micro ATX.
