Decent case

Brandon M., Newegg
13 April 2015
  • Summary: I like this case but the fans that came with it were bad quality in my opinion. Otherwise everything was fairly easy to install.
  • Pros: Excellent airflow and good design.
  • Cons: Needs better fans.

Armored with an Edge

Premier H., Newegg
1 November 2011
  • Summary: I don't think there were enough 2.5" and/or 3.5" adapters for the case. I have a USB3.0 port that can be mounted on the front or in the back, a 3.5" card reader, and a 2.5" solid-state drive. I had to do some special rigging just to get all three of these into decent places in the computer.
  • Pros: Sleek design, mostly tool-less, fairly quiet, wire management area in back, plenty of bays, easy to get inside, slide-out motherboard tray.
  • Cons: No design for bottom-mounted power supply, top of case is kind of a delicate removal for installing a fan, there's no dedicated hole for the main power cable to come from the wire management area, and there's a "Thermaltake - Cool all Your Life" bit on the side panel that I wish was left blank, f...

User Manual?

Justin R., Newegg
22 May 2011
  • Summary: NA
  • Pros: So far the case is great, it's huge and has room for all of my drives. Room for plenty of fans, and is not broken.
  • Cons: Didn't come with a user manual!

A step forward and a step back.

Mark G., Newegg
10 May 2011
  • Summary: I am still happy with the case, but I think this is a object lesson in not changing things that are not broken. This is quite simply not as nice of case as my older armor. It would have been better if they just added the MB tray & made some decent tool-less PCI levers.
  • Pros: This is my second TT armor case. I also own the previous model. Very sturdy case. For me and for a case like this weight is not an issue. This is not a LAN part case. This is a " Don't move me all around because I'm heavy and you shouldn't be anyway " type of case. Plenty of space for fans. The b...
  • Cons: The tool-less PCI levers are junk. Take them out and smash them with a hammer. I didn't like the ones in the previous armor model and I took those out and smashed them with a hammer, but these are even worse and deserve a much bigger hammer. The side window fan is a major downgrade from the previ...

Overall a good case

Geoffrey M., Newegg
26 April 2011
  • Summary: Overall I think this is a good case. It would especially be good for someone new to building rigs as the plentiful space is easy to work with. More advance users however may not like certain features, such as the clips in the back.
  • Pros: Lots and lots of space to work in. The tool free design is great and is easy to figure out. Stock fans, for the most part, provide a good amount of air flow without too much noise. Glows a nice blue. Gives you tons of options.
  • Cons: Even for a full tower this sucker is big and heavy. The cable management isn't all that great. I personally didn't like how the hard drive cables had to be threaded through the opaque panel. Also, getting to the front intake fan is a real pain. Requires you to more or less totally disassemble the...

Meh

Rodney E., Newegg
28 February 2011
  • Summary: I didn't build this system for overclocking or to squeeze out every drop of performance that I can get. I'm after rock solid stable and predicable. This case gave me the room I needed to stuff in a RAID Cage and PCE-E controler, a full size video card, two TV tuners and it still has a cave like echo...
  • Pros: Lots of room, which is what I need for my HTPC/Media, File Server and Gaming Box. Lots of room for things like a RAID cage, full size video cards and even the larger form factor mother boards. The cable management is okay, however you will need to find a power supply with long cables to reach the...
  • Cons: Side fan is useless, it's just there for looks. Replaced the front and rear fans and removed the side fan, much better air flow and cooling in the case now. Top mounted front ports seem like a bad idea on a full size tower case, useless to me as they are inaccessible. The top storage tray is inac...

Great Case

Mark D., Newegg
24 February 2011
  • Summary: Lastly I'd like to know if anyone else is having an issue with the USB ports on the front/top of this case which attach to the motherboard? Reason I ask is that is seems that almost anytime I connect a USB device to it, the pc reboots & sometimes upon coming back up all the usb ports are dead, then...
  • Pros: I got one of these cases for myself & have used 2 more for systems I built for friends. they are great cases, and while I agree with some people that the large fan doesn't push as air as it should, if it did push more that would increase the noise from it & then people would be complaining about ...
  • Cons: It's not a big deal but I think more(better/more clear) documentation would be a nice thing with the case. like how to add top & bottom fans & the central fan that attaches to the motherboard tray area. Also for that last fan a better method of connecting it to the tray b/c the way it is now was ...

Buy Extra Fans

Anonymous, Newegg
10 February 2011
  • Pros: 1.) Lots of space to work with. 2.) Sturdy 3.)Looks like a beast.
  • Cons: It's heavy, which is to be expected obviously. My main complaint though is that all three of the fans died within a year. The front died at around 6 months, side a few months after that, and finally the rear gave out as well. Do yourself a favor and buy a couple of fans. The big side fan you'll h...

Future proof

Eugene H., Newegg
22 January 2011
  • Summary: initail build was 3 years ago, going to sell it off and retain the case--now replacing with a Sandy bridge based rig with large aftermarket CPU cooler. This case, with stock fans will not heat your system--great airflow.
  • Pros: Future proof for air--maximum space adaptable for water cooling Solid, well contructed and very heavy Max space for Sli or more Will fit any large ( as in really large) after market CPU air cooler--currently have a Xigmatic HDT 1283 120MM installed with an inch to spare.(see Xigmatic HDT 1283 dem...
  • Cons: Side fan was DOA, had a replacement from Tk within 10 days, has not failed since in 3 years. No 230 MM sidefan available on Newegg--must go to Tk for a replacement.
