Long Term

  • Pros: I bought this case in 2005, yup 10 years ago, it's on its 3rd mobo and probably 6th hardware update. I'm finally retiring it just based on its size and the fact that I just done need that big of a computer case anymore. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Oh, and I am replacing it with ano...
  • Cons: It's heavy, and heavier when full, so it almost has to be on the floor.

8+ years and counting...

david p., Newegg
19 August 2014
  • Summary: This has been a solid rig for about 9 years now. I mean, solid. Nothing has ever broke, fallen off or even dented. This rig is just in perfect shape still. Amazing they made such an awesome product. Because of my newest upgrades I have to get rid of this puppy.
  • Pros: Huge case. Plenty of drive storage and ample room for a SLI or Xfire setup. Easy to set up. Side windows are beastly. Beautiful rig to own. Has multiple fan areas to set up but I'll touch on that in the cons. Side door is easy to open and even locks with key. Sturdy, durable and long lasting. Lik...
  • Cons: Heavy as a horse when fully loaded. Top fans are never fully functional when going full tilt because the grille stops them from being 100% efficient. Front power switches and usb hubs are on a short wire set up. Usbs stopped working about 3 years ago. Front fan can displace too much air with the ...

Best PC-related purchase I have ever made!

Addison G., Newegg
8 August 2014
  • Summary: I realize that a review for this product is rather pointless now, considering that they are no longer being marketed or sold, but this was one of the very few examples of PC-related technology that has not been made obsolete almost a decade later.
  • Pros: I have owned one of these for 8 years, and it has really stood the test of time. This case is just ridiculously durable. I loaned mine to a friend with children two years ago, and just got it back tonight. The components are shot, the fans are caked black with dust, I found rat droppings and rabb...
  • Cons: I see that this case is out of stock at Newegg and discontinued by Thermaltake... That's no surprise, judging by how old the last review is and the fact that I bought mine 8 years ago. I suspect that means that it will be harder for me to find specific parts for it if someone ever does manage to ...

Great Case

Anonymous, Newegg
28 October 2012
  • Summary: case is pretty heavy, so I wouldnt recommend it if you needed to move it around often.
  • Pros: Great case, tons of room, tons of fans, tons of airflow, sets up off ground good and high which is a plus because it allows airflow through the bottom, solid construction, case is a beast.
  • Cons: only con is the placement of the usb and audio on the top of the case, wish it had usb and audio on the front

urban g., Newegg
2 October 2009
  • Summary: I was amazed on how this case has stood up to the test of time
  • Pros: I had this case for three years and since then I have builded 4 rigs for my son's with other case's, this case to me is still the best. The options you have for your build are awesome, from H/D to optics to psu and everything in between this case will handle it. The tooless thing is usless but it...
  • Cons: The tooless thing just does'nt work take it off and just screw everything in

  • Summary: I have an IFX-14 heatsink which is huge, and this case barely fit it...i hate to say it but maybe i should've gone bigger?
  • Pros: Tool-less bays, psu placement vents hot air immediately, tool tray on front is novel, the whole case looks excellent
  • Cons: tool-less pci slots stopped me from installing second support for my 4870x2, so it's only held up by slot and 1 plastic holder instead of two:(....also stopped me from installing a pci exhaust fan underneath

Not the best

Clayton M., Newegg
7 January 2009
  • Summary: In case you are the type of person who does not read manuals and just jumps right into things, beware that this case has metal tabs which are used for BTX and if you install an ATX motherboard in this case you MUST cover these tabs with the plastic protectors included with the case or else you will...
  • Pros: -Large -Sturdy -Window and blue LED fans
  • Cons: -Fans don't move much air. -It is difficult to install a large PSU in this case. I had to remove the upper IO panel and one of the 80mm fans to install. Also my PSU only lined up with 3 of the 4 screw holes which was odd. Installed the same PSU in my new case and it fit perfect. -HDD rack is slig...

Love it

Zora A., Newegg
30 December 2008
  • Summary: I recommend this case to anyone who isn't going to moving their computer a lot.
  • Pros: Very durable. Tons of room inside and keeps me running at 37C. Also not very loud. My Zalman fan is the loudest thing in it.
  • Cons: Quite Heavy. About 50 pounds fully loaded with MB, PSU, etc. Also has plastic clips to hold HDD and CD-Rom in. They were easy to use but feel flimsy.

Perfect as can be

Gene F., Newegg
26 December 2008
  • Summary: A year later i ordered the thermaltake window which has a nice 25cm fan that sucked even more air into the system cooled my 8800gtx nicely. I would suggest getting that but its sold out at frozencpu dont know where else to get it.
  • Pros: Ordered this in winter 06 along with the all new 8800gtx back then with Thermaltakes watercooling kit. I'll tell you everything fit flawlessly, the tank right perfectly right next to the gtx. I wanted to eliminate the need for having to have the reservoir the case which it did.
  • Cons: Not so much of a con but the 2 panels on the front are just annoying so i removed them.
