Thermaltake Swing Case

BCCHardware
1 June 2006
  • Summary: As I mentioned earlier in the review, the box that the case arrived in appeared in good shape.  It didn't have any bangs or pieces missing.  However, the case itself had some damage.  As the box didn't look beat up, I'm unsure as to when the damage happened.
  • Pros: Tool-free drive & PCI card installation., Thumbscrews for side panels., Front fan filter is washable., Sturdy design and feel to the chassis., No sharp edges., Chassis Intrusion Detection Switch.
  • Cons: Only comes with one 120mm fan., No side ventilation options., "Cheap" feel to tool-less features., Priced high with no PSU.

  • Excerpt: For a mid-tower case competing in the mainstream market, this is an incredibly solid release. Packed into the small frame of the Swing case we're able to find enough room for everything and more, and virtually all the features of a full tower in a space that doesn't seem cramped. If the interior of the case is a solid point, the exterior of the Swing case is a top notch accomplishment as well.

  • Summary: Lacking any fancy LED fans, powering up the Thermaltake Swing Case was uneventful. The Thermaltake Swing Case is the perfect marriage of budget, usability, and looks. This Case has room to grow, so as an entry level Case the Swing would be an ideal purchase. Also, with its $60 price tag it's within reach of many peoples' budget - our only ding was that it doesn't include a Power Supply Unit.

  • Summary: Thermaltake has a pretty good budget case in their hands.  The Swing is designed to be pretty stylish and comes with some great features that regular consumers can take advantage of.  The tool-less installation methods are well implemented and allowed me to finish installing all my hardware within minutes.  The 120mm fan options are great and allows good cooling performance for your components.
  • Pros: Tool-less installation, Comes with 120mm exhaust fan, Very affordable, Motherboard area has lots of room to work with, Front ports are located towards the top of the case for easy access
  • Cons: Need to remove front panel to install drives, Only allows three hard drives in hard drive cage, Only comes with one 120mm fan
