Almost a great case

Sean L., Newegg
2 April 2015
  • Summary: The hot swappable bays do not work for me. Only the first and second drives get power. I just don't think one SATA power is enough to power five hard drives. I even got another backplane from Thermaltake just in case mine was faulty.
  • Pros: Lots of space Looks cool Mostly well built Some nice small features
  • Cons: Hot swappable bays don't work(the main feature of the case) Case handle started pulling apart from the case from one use Light strip on the front doesn't work Not enough room in the back for cable management

Somewhat disappointed.

Steven H., Newegg

  • Summary: Probably not going to buy Thermaltake again. NZXT, while annoying at times, generally has much higher quality cases.
  • Pros: It's a beautiful case...but the plastic exterior puts me off a bit. I wish it were metal. It has cool LEDs that can change color, and the custom fans are included. That was pretty cool.
  • Cons: I've been lusting after this case since, what, tenth grade? I'm 21 now. Maybe it was later than that, I dunno. Then I got it, and was stoked to see it had hot-swappable hard drives. Each hard drive bay came with a little thing that you plug the hard drive into one end, and then plug the SATA cabl...

So-so. Swap out bays not so easy.

Jeffrey K., Newegg
29 December 2014
  • Summary: So close. But they really messed it with simple design errors. Would advise other cases. I went for it because it looked like you could easily put disc drives in and out on this. Not true.
  • Pros: Solid. Large, capacious interior with which to work. My first build of a computer, and this was fairly straightforward. Plenty of room to tuck cables out of the way, 3 good fans, lots of lighting options. Plenty of 5.25" bays.
  • Cons: Many: 1. The 5 swap bays REQUIRE that you physically screw in the hard drives and SSDs to secure them in place, and you MUST use the special screws they provide, else the trays aren't flush and can't slide in. This is far from easy hot-swap despite the appearance. 2. No USB 3.0 ports in front. Yo...

Do not buy!!!

Ju L., Newegg
18 June 2014
  • Pros: Very innovative concept, the lockable HDD bays and side panel door is very useful for keeping curious kids away. Includes three 200mm fans for quiet operation.
  • Cons: Don't buy this case, simple as that. The door lock mechanism was broken upon arrival, upon specific inspection I saw that the metal spring operated shaft was misaligned with the eject button. The entire case is made of cheap plastic except the bare minimum of the essential skeleton. The handle is...

Looks aren't everything

David B., Newegg
28 February 2014
  • Pros: it held my headphones so my desk had less clutter
  • Cons: I never knew the LED on the handle was suppose to light up, never knew the reset button was suppose be able to be pushed, because they never worked. The front panel and wiring to the supports for the power button, reset button, USB had a short in it. When you rubbed your finger across that sectio...

User Review

Victoria T., Newegg
6 February 2014
  • Summary: Too expensive for a blasted case... Especially built as it is...
  • Pros: This case looks really nice and the layout for wiring is also quite nice, the air flow is good for someone like me that doesn't want to go to liquid cooling based on my environment. The fans are pretty sometimes too, and very quiet. When seen my case usually gets a few oohs and ahhs...
  • Cons: But a lot of the time the fans don't want to work, change colors or anything, the door broke off and had to be repaired after being opened 7- times, some of the cables placement are not really user friendly, and I had to teach my friend how to hook his up for fear he'd rip them all out and oh, di...

DIsappointed

Harris G., Newegg
29 November 2013
  • Pros: Makes a great target for practicing with your shotgun.
  • Cons: When Attempting to originally hookup my HDD's to the case one of the sata plugs broke. And just now when putting back on the back panel another broke. So out of the 5 Hard Drive bays. I can actually use 3.

Terrible Case For The Cost

Cameron W., Newegg
21 November 2013
  • Summary: When I purchased this case, it was advertised only as being made of Steel, a big advantage over many other cases. This was one of the biggest reasons I purchased this case. I expected some plastic anyways, but the case is plastic all over, with only the main panels consisting of steel.
  • Pros: The only thing good about this case is it's appearance.
  • Cons: The case came with a broken plug on the SATA back-plane, reducing my capacity for storage. Despite the enormity of the case, there is very little cable routing in the side. The motherboard cut for accessing the heat sink is far to small, making it necessary to remove/change heat sinks. The hard d...

mixed feeling

Anonymous, Newegg
6 October 2013
  • Summary: Given all that, I would Not recommend this product to another.
  • Pros: overall the case is a beast, its large be prepared for that. the design is attractive (to me) and the air flow seems fairly well laid out with removable screens for dusting.
  • Cons: The case is not super well made. The "handle" on the side was basically removed when i recieved it and never has sat fush on the machine. I could live with this as i wasnt getting it for a show piece. The feet are attached by tabs (one broke after a few weeks) again, I could manage. The drive bay...

Lower quality than I expect for this price

J. Kissell, Amazon
24 July 2013
  • Summary: I was building a great computer, and decided to spend some extra money and get a great case that would last me many new motherboards into the future. The purpose was to be a storage/raid/file server. Unfortunately, that's not what I got. There are some good things about the case.
