Great micro 1U case

Anonymous, Newegg
16 November 2012
  • Pros: This is a great micro 1U case. SM makes several variants of this but this one has two 2.5 external drive bays. The rest of them feature internal drive bays of differing arrangements. Using an X9SCM-F motherboard, with two SSD drives and an Ivy Bridge processor... total wattage for normal conditio...
  • Cons: I agree with the previous poster, SM doesn't make it easy to match their boards and their cases. This case is actually not listed as compatible with X9SCM's but works just fine.

Good Stuff!!!

  • Summary: Would be helpful if SuperMicro would publish a list of recommended boards for their cases so it wouldn't take so much time to find the case/board combinations that work.
  • Pros: Thoughtfully designed and nicely built. This is great equipment for system builders. I'm going to adopt SM as a standard product.
  • Cons: Really only designed for SM motherboards, but the designs are engineered for whole system integration - really more of a PRO than a CON.

  • Summary: The Good: nice small "node" chassis for X8SIL-f MB fits boot SSD and dual 2.5" drives in RAID 0. Should really smoke under load!
