Summary: I don't know if I would buy this case again.
Pros: I like the rubber vibration insulated 3.5 inch HDD holder. Good use of space.
Cons: The motherboard tray standoffs are tapped in 2 different thread sizes. It took me a while to figure out why my standoff screws were falling out of some of the MB tray standoffs. About half of the standoffs were tapped with standard MB threads, and half were tapped with HDD threads! I guess the employee on the line set down their tap in the middle of tapping the MB tray, and then picked up the wrong tap when they resumed tapping the MB tray. After fixing the MB to its ...
Summary: For the price, this is an excellent case, it's very pretty and the single fan is dead quiet. The video card and heatsink supports are good features and they work brilliantly. However, there were some problems. I already own a fortress and I was expecting the same quality from Siverstone and frankly, the TJ08 just is not as well built (it's good, but it's not excellent) Cable management is there, it is possible, but it isn't easy, especially with hard drives, the...
Pros: Looks good, pretty good cable management, removable motherboard tray
Cons: Not the easiest case to work in, can be difficult to find routes for some cables. Not up to silverstone's usual standard of quality.
Pros: nice looking case and will work nicely for me... although... see con
Cons: I bought this case a little over a month ago, but due to circumstances I am just now getting around to building the pc. I have now found that the case packaging was short the accessories and manual. I've had to scrounge around for screws ,standoff etc.. I'm sure before I'm finished there will be something else that would have been nice to have that I should have received, since I forked over the dough for everything that is supposed to be included. This kind of turns ...
Summary: It's a great case and all but when I went to install it found out where the 3 built-in motherboard stand off's by the io shield were completely missing. All that's left is a gaping hole where no regular motherboard stand off's. My solution was to find some nuts and washers to raise them to use. I would have RMA'd but this system was not for me and my fix was sufficient in my opinion.
Pros: Looks nice, good fan
Cons: Motherboard standoff's missing, flimsy metal
Summary: Looking at the other reviews on this case and specifically the fan I see that I'm not alone with problems. I think that silverstone should use ball bearings in these fans and not the sleeve bearings that they currently use. That would do two things, #1 increase the life/reliability of the fan #2 decrease customer service issues that bad fans create.
Pros: Love the layout of this case. cooling is very impressive!! Lots of airflow. great filter design on the front of the case allows for easy access to it.
Cons: As another reviewer said, too loud at higher fan speeds. The fan that I got with the case has developed a "clicking" sound about a day or two after I built the computer. I believe it to be a bad bearing. Search newegg for "AP181" to see more reviews of the fan itself to see what I mean.
Summary: Room on the bottom of the chassis to add more 2.5" or even 3.5" drives. All they had to do was create more recessed holes. Bummer.
Pros: Concept is nearly flawless. Can bolt your 2.5" to the bottom of the chassis, allowing you to remove all drive bays. Front fan is large enough that you don't have to install an exhaust fan. When at 100%, you can feel the air blowing out of every crevice in the case.
Cons: The fan that comes with this unit is noisy when at 40% or above. Not wind noisy (can't ever hear the wind) but it's like a click that occurs with each revolution is the best way I can think to describe it. I have no idea if I just got a bad fan, but I'm thinking not since the fan on my Sapphire 6870 makes the exact same noise. This is a problem because I have to turn it 80% or more when gaming or else my vid card sounds like a tornado. I'm gonna have to replace the fa...
Summary: Pros: Looks great!; Internal USB 3.0 header; Good cable management; Decent layout inside. Cons: The material seems cheap, I screwed the motherboard mounts in with my fingers and it striped out the holes on the m/b tray; On most m/b's you can't use ram with any type of tall heatsink as it will hit the hdd; and the front fan is actually pretty loud even on the low setting.
Pros: 1.
