1st Silverstone case i didnt like

Kelly S., Newegg
16 August 2008
  • Summary: rf interferance from the small lcd display causes some minor noise on the front panel ear phone port. Its only noticeable when there is no music or sound playing. Finally Silverstone does make a fanless cpu cooler that is perfect for this case NT01-E just dont forget to install the backplate on the...
  • Pros: Looks good, Can be very quiet with the right parts, wow factor, you can fit a full length video card like the ati 4850.
  • Cons: I have built hundreds of computers over the last 15 years. And i always love lian-li and silverstone cases. This case is NOT up to silverstone quality, except for the front bezel the rest of the case is thin stamped steel and plastic. For a case of this size its VERY hard to get components instal...

User Review

3 July 2008
  • Summary: -both fans in rear pull air out of the case, just an FYI. -Medicore software, not very customizable, few options to play with on what shows up in the front panel. I'd rather have it scroll news feeds and weather in the center of the screen than to show me the processor speed, just my two cents.
  • Pros: - nice finish - enough room - provided all necessary parts - easy setup
  • Cons: -remote does not come with batteries -front optical drive bezel does not drop down/work as a cover, so good luck finding a silver slim optical drive - not many options for heatsinks, low profile doesnt really allow you anything but the stock cooler. - not as quiet as advertised

  • Summary: Hopefully the completed version of the software is better.
  • Pros: Very quiet and well vented. Not too cramped but not too deep. Nice display. Soundgraph software looks slick and doesn't make computer unstable. Sort of works with winamp and media player.
  • Cons: The top of the case looks a little strange. The Soundgraph software isn't fully cooked yet. The v7 beta works, but not well. It is missing a lot of features, it's very user firendly and isn't all that configurable. The dvd player software has crazy judder issues on panning scenes making it worthl...

Great Case for Experienced

Robert L., Newegg
12 February 2008
  • Summary: Could use a bit more room between the PSU and drive cage. Not really a con, just a wish.
  • Pros: Steel and Aluminum make the best case. Strong Steel chassis and backbone for strength, with aluminum shell for great cooling. Running HD feeds for hours and the case is still cold to the touch. Nice lightly-brushed face for great looks with other Media gear. Nice lower door with mag catch and slo...
  • Cons: Blue Power LED is much too bright for an HTPC. Why can't builders figure this one out. I'll have to research and add a reducing resistor to dim it. "backbone" is a bit too large and I had to cut it to fit the silent CPU cooler (Silverstone NT-06 Lite). It's a nice way to brace the system and hold...
